The AIs have the resources and branding. They just need to adapt. The current meta favors high engagement fare like livestreaming, with independent clippers and fanwork creators doing a lot of the marketing. This is how relevance is measured now. Edited let's play videos are too old faahioned unless you're funny, and humor doesn't translate across the language barrier. This is why they're not relevant on the vtuber board, as the global outreach meta now requires direct fan interaction.

Anya debut on the 5th of december with 140k subs before she even opened her mouth. If we remove those pre-debut subs (just to be fair, and give the poor 2.97M Vtuber a chance) she has EARNED 200k subs since then.
On the 5th of December, Ai had 2.87M subs. She now has 2.97M, a growth of 100K.

Also sub count growths are not comparable since Ai already has the entire JP vtuber audience subbed to her. It's hard to find growth when there aren't many people who haven't heard of her already.

As for a metric that actually matters, Anya averages 30k views per video, and it's been flat for the last 6 months, maybe even decreasing a bit.

Ai averages 150k views with some breaking 500k, much better than 8 months ago where they average 125k with a few breaking 200k.

Her viable option is to:
- Generate news by announcing some kind of rebirth / reimagining, maybe with an improved design. You have to grab the news headlines to make people take at least one look again.
- When they do, address the voicing fiasco that led to her downfall again. Not angrily screaming about it or obliquely complaining, but more retrospectively, by admitting where the company went wrong. Be honest about how it hurt her and made her sad that people left her, if only to win sympathy points. She needs to confront the problem again and reconnect with people who left her.
- Become a modern vtuber, with a single channel (as a character), and actually interact with fans more often and more visibly. That means more daily zatsudan / weekly supachat reading streams. Hire live English translators even for livestreams to reach the global fan base which is responsible for the biggest vtuber boom ever.
- Learn the tactics of holos and nijis. The 10 hardcore Ai fans left will insist she doesn't have to imitate holos and nijis. She doesn't have to go full GFE or anything. But the fact is that she has no fans left because she failed to build lasting connections / interactions with fans. All the pre-recorded videos in the world would not change that lack of connection.

Ai wouldn't read this, of course. And she will stay in the limbo she is in now in terms of growth.
