Hmm, that's exactly what I thought I was describing. I tried to make it a point to contrast your virile shota proposition even. There's most certainly a level above this that's common IRL, and it's easy to overlook when theorycrafting from the perspective of an author trying to keep things varied - bull forum partners often don't care all that much about a long-term relationship. my two cents. Shion is actually quite shy (one of the many reasons she's so hard to find in the collab pokedex) and takes a while until her kusogaki engine kicks in.
I think you have a good idea of how to write her in a bratty way, but it could help a bit to start with her doing deadpan remarks/being skittish until she realizes you are a country bumpkin and that's where she starts feeling more comfortable and finally ends up being bratty.

The honest answer to that question is that I really just needed to get Tower of Tattle out of my head for a while. I've got really obsessive tendencies, and it was a work that started literally a week after Shiori debuted, went on for a month, and then had been roosting and renting about a quarter of my cognitive space for like half a year. It genuinely was something I'd only started on a lark for the writing contest and planned to have done in a few days. The original Tower of Tattle was literally supposed to be... 1500 words...

That said, it's not entirely the case that I did it just for mental health and productivity reasons. Cuz I did have the small hope that releasing it in bits I might be able to catch people more and more with it. It's kinda gay to talk about twitter readership, but it was cool when a couple of the parts got a few hundred likes. Anyway, that's a wash since the shiorinstories tag is dead and now only one guy on twitter reads it. But I do actually think it reads a bit better serialized. It's worth saying that all together part VI would probably be like... 70k words. It kinda felt like if I just dumped a 70k word part on here, even people who'd been reading it before would be put off.

But yeah. The bigger reason is honestly that Tower of Tattle was taking up a huge amount of my mental space that I just needed to free up for everything else in my life, and doing the drip feed put it in a state where I could watch it out of the corner of my eye while I did some hogwrangling with life stuff that's gonna be freed up in about a month.

For what it's worth this update schedule would be pretty good for a web novel. The only problem really is that this part (or well mini-arc at this point) is kind of a departure pacewise from the previous parts each chapter feels glacial due to how you're releasing them. Reasonably certain you'd get a bigger response from us if it was all released in a batch ala how some big series fics get released here since each part's pacing doesn't really give much to comment on... though not sure about the other places you release this on.

I don't think they're good or bad, they just are. For example, I have some terrible mental connotations with the scent of noonday summer streets, but also some relaxing memories.
Or perhaps the artificiality of the strawberries is offputting, but it's an undeniably sweet scent that is pleasurable to the nose.
Smell is an often underlooked sense when it comes to writing because we forget about them, but I think it's useful in descriptive scenes to capture a moment and flex your prose.
