Reading chat is good but you don't have to read it word for word every time. Ideally you should paraphrase as succinctly as you can while making it clear which message you're replying to.
If someon says "Hi [x]! [blah blah blah blah blah] your favorite game?" You can just reply "Hi [chatter]! Thanks! My favorite game? Well, ____"

Streaming and game development will be my primary "thing" for the foreseeable future, at least a few more years. As to why I don't stream more: I think streaming every day wouldn't be great for me since I do mostly zatsu. I don't want people to get too tired of me. Doing fewer streams gives people time to rest, and also gives me time to think of ideas. Who knows if that's the right thing to do, but it's worked decently so far and I'm comfortable with it.
I'm not really in any rush to get partner+ or more subs or anything like that. I don't expect to ever make a living off of streaming entirely even if the channel was way bigger. I'd rather enjoy it and meet cool people.

I think you're making the right play, fewer high quality streams are better than several lower effort/quality streams, especially at the lengths that you stream at. You're doing great stuff and I hope it keeps taking off!

also, people listing partner+ as being a pushable goal have no idea what they're on about lol, I have decent sub points but I'm not even halfway there. I know people with 1k+ CCV that are struggling to hit the minimum. it's not an easy thing to push for unless you REALLY wanna sell out and hound your viewers for money

Making videos is the worst idea you could go for if you don't even know what you want to do. Videos need focus and a goal, and you have neither.
Just stream and learn what you like and don't like about streaming. You aren't supposed to dive head first into it, just stream a bit and slowly find your way. You can abandon your chuuba identity at any time.

That's why you don't just look at chat and give an answer without framing it with context. If chat says "Hey strimmer what's your favorite game? I like Fire Emblem." a well thought out answer that gives context would sound like "Oh, you like Fire Emblem? I've played those a bit but I prefer the Tactics Ogre games." That doesn't require reading all of the message verbatim and allows you to instead focus on giving an answer and doing whatever else you're doing to keep chat moving. Sometimes chatters will just make a statement that leads to conversation. You can rephrase that statement as a question and then talk about it. "Strimmer the price of houses is so high I can't buy one and it sucks." "The price of housing is really high? I dont' know where you live but I've heard that things are tough in most places for that right now and..." and you're off to tangent town.

Not reading chat verbatim also helps you not get sapped by somebody just writing something unhinged that you read without thinking.

If scissors can choose something to work towards, he could start refining his content a bit to start having fun.
