Is there a reason why people get so attached to their favorite vtuber? i found myself seeing them as just entertainment, you know, like a tv show therefore is not a feeling i can understand, i know that a vtuber is much more personal than that and i don't think people see it as a platonic love either, they legit fall in love with them and i feel bad because that must suck, loving someone that will never love you back or even aknowledge you must be fucking awful, how do you guys deal with that? sorry for the long post

Same bro, been watching vtubers for almost 2 years, never been attached to anyone. It's like watching seasonal anime, it's fun but theres always new stuff coming up. The downside is that I still don't have a favorite/Oshi after all this time, cuz I watch them like a whore with 0 loyality.

Having an oshi is fine, I have multiple which some people will look at as weird but fuck them I play by my own rules. In saying that, what they do away from their job is of no concern to me and doesn't have any effect on how much I enjoy their content.

Honesty depends on the person and just how low of a shithole their in. For me I just see her as someone I respect a ton, and sort of resonate with the emotions and passion she puts out. I can't see myself ever falling in a deep love, but I do feel a sort of platonic feeling, especially when you know she reads out your random comments.
