There was a thread discussing the effect that the right audio settings can have on your voice. Could someone listen to this and give advice? I followed a basic OBS audio tutorial, but I'm wondering if there's specific things about my voice I need to adjust for. Also, the weird mechanical noise in the background is from my computer fans. I did set a noise gate, but that just means that the fans become audible whenever I start talking.

Certainly just basic information is always in the hands of everybody, to not believe that it's useful or not doesn't mean that you don't have it. You can always say what you know, and see if it's useful or not.
To attribute the quality of real that all of what you say needs to be the most curated incredibly peak quality content possible will end up really just negating from everyone the chance of advancing, I do not know if you agree with the viewpoint of there not being a community or not, but to not pay attention to the basic idea of reciprocating what can be beneficial and ignoring what isn't, no matter what, is to not be really getting the part of doing what you can, not doing your best, not doing your maximum, nor spending hours to just give one response, but to just try and help with what you think you can.

Can confirm. Talent is something you work for, not something you're born with. Every artist starts off somewhere, and for a lot of them that starting place involves god-awful art. The biggest struggle I have is letting go of the past.
There's some people who wronged me in what still feels like a substantial way as not a day goes by that I don't find myself blocked/banned from someone I'm only just now meeting for the first time and even though I know it's best to leave that shit behind and move forward without ever giving it any thought.

Its hard to say which is better because there are plenty of examples of aspies who have done either that succeeded and failed. All you have to do is stream a random game you like for a single hour to establish in your mind that it's something you can and will do, and have set up. Don't wait until you get a model paid and delivered and so on to start messing with the vtubing software. There are free models included with vroid studio as well as vtubestudio. Use those offline to get an idea of how your camera tracking works and how a model responds to everything you do. A lot of the performance aspects of vtubing are about how you control that model and its reactions and movements and having control over that model can help set you apart from others.
