Yo!
My reading comprehension is pretty decent but I'm garbage at speaking and listening to Japanese.

Sell me on your Hololive Oshis and why I should watch their streams and VODs to practice my Japanese.

Bonus point if they have husky voices, but anything goes.

since she changed her voice I count her among the high pitch.
I'm just sad she felt like she had to.

You can't go wrong with either Watame and Okayu when it comes to clear spoken Japanese. If you want to improve your fast-spoken slangish Japanese go with someone like Marine. Try avoiding as much as possible Sakura and Luna since they aren't worth your time.

I listened to Okayu’s Tohokuben recording to her grandma and it was fucking incomprehensible. I love how she’s trained herself to speak more standard Japanese!

Top choices for this question are almost always Watame and Okayu. Watame also has a pretty active JP clipper that includes good hardsubs:

Why don't you check out my bro Kanda Shoichi? His Japanese is so clear that you can turn on Youtube CC and it will be quite accurate. He is the person people recommend when someone asks for easy listening reps. He does a lot of Kamen Rider watchalongs if you like Kamen Rider.

she's getting more JP viewers, and she prefers to carter to the audience that she can understand better, it seems.
Maybe she would keep her pitch or even lower it if the EOP would start learning JP.

>avoiding as much as possible Sakura and Luna since they aren't worth your time.
I'd say taking the challenge and trying to get to the level where you're able to understand them is worth it. Though tbf I've been watching Miko for over 2 years and have been able to understand her from the start, so I don't really get what people mean when they say it's difficult to understand her speech. Same with Luna

Best is to listen to seiyuu radio shows.
For Holo it's gonna be Okayu, Watame, Suisei.
For Niji I like Yashiro and Toko.

Not Hololive, but Amatsuka Uto is great for listening practice. Her Japanese is easy/intermediate and clearly pronounced

Okayu trained herself to speak very clear and plain Japanese after having grown up with an accent. She speaks at a reasonable clip when she's not excited and doesn't have an immediately obvious voice gimmick, so all of her words come through very clearly. She also has the deepest voice in Hololive and generally speaking for Vtubers the only one who has a deeper voice than her is probably Ange Katrina.

>> No.6950749

>>6950717
I'd say Toko's voice is deeper than Okayu's.Either way both their voices are sex for the ears.
