>watch EN
>wrinkle nose in disgust over the cringe of both chuuba and chat
>watch subbed JP clips
>really enjoy them
what causes this? Is it just that knowing the language makes you realize how cringe everyone's being, or are JP chuubas just fundamentally less cringe? I can't be the only one experiencing this divide.

Henya is a Japanese person who mostly speaks in English during her streams. Do you cringe when you watch her or is it different?

My english and japanese are around the same level(my mother language is portuguese)yet I feel the same way so it isn't about knowing the language or not

Yes, it's the language barrier. But once you find some EN chuubas you like better and start watching them enough then you'll get used to it.

Hating women. It took me a while to realize it but it's as simple as that. The Japanese ones are actual anime girls that live in your phone, your brain relates ENs with people you know in real life. Also it doesn't help that every person they hired in the first 2.5 gens of holoEN sound like they're developmentally retarded.

Kr here, as someone who loved both western cartoons and Japanese animes both the dubs and subs sounds fairly normal to me, but God knows how much I cringed the first time I hear Korean dub.

If cartoon and anime is the sole way to introduce you into certain language then you'd think that's how normal people talk. But only when your hear the high pitched voice in your mother tongue will you realize how cringe they are.

I know Japanese and JP chubas are simply made better.
It's like dub vs sub all over again. There are exceptions of course but as a rule of thumb im going with the sub.

you'll never be Japanese, there is nothing better or special about them, and you are not cooler or more cultured or based for pretending you actually watch shit in a language you don't speak, with no subtitles
