Nah, they were initially going to shut down permanently the Sunday after Pomu graduated and that was the plan well before her final stream. Then they wanted to stay open for one last karaoke and the Place Further than the Universe group watch. At some point after the graduation, I'm guessing they realized how big the community was and how busy the non-Pomu channels were and decided to restructure to accommodate that. Also, they were initially going to reopen "just after valentine's day", but announced this week that they will delay it another week to avoid being flooded with drama posts. It's coincidental, but I don't think worth rrating about.

The real rrat is if Pomu asked them to keep the server open for her redebut, but an anon here said the mods know as little as we do about Pomu's future.

I finally worked up the courage to check out the memberfeesh stream from last month where Finana talked about Pomu's graduation and some of her other troubles that's been on her mind. I'm happy she was able to talk about it so openly but I feel sad that her mentality has become "if this makes you upset, I'm sorry and it's okay". There are some things you should be loudly and firmly taking a stance on if you truly believe it's the right thing, but because of the way she's not really thought things through in the past before speaking, now it feels like she's too quick to concede space to people who are too eager to misinterpret what she says or the way she says it. I'm still hopeful she's able to grow this year, but it's been a rough start and I hope she's okay.

Just thinking about it from an administrative perspective, it certainly does make things tricky. First and foremost, I'm not sure she'd want people to discuss her so openly in a fan discord right now. Especially one tied to Niji. Secondly, it could set a bad precedence to allow non-vtubers and ex-livers. That said, the entire server knows about it and it'll be impossible to stop vagueposters.

Between Pomu's graduation and Selen's termination I haven't had much time to adjust to Elira/Finana as a duo, so a part of me is still hoping they can redebut as a trio again, some way, somewhere. IMO it has less to do with what's been happening internally and way more with what happened to her friend; like that was a wake-up call that she doesn't have unlimited time to achieve what she wants to achieve and that trying to keep the branch together would not only lead to burnout but it would also waste too much of her youth. She didn't really have plans of what to do after so she just went for the first item in her bucket list i.e. finally get better at Japanese and earn that JLPT cert or whatever.
As for streaming either she finally manages to wean us off her and herself off us somehow, or she'll be around in some form or another. Right now she's using her iPad Friend™ to not be alone with her thoughts, but the future depends on who she'll associate with and where she'll end up.

It's super sad. She wouldn't have unprivated her X/Twitter account several weeks ago if she didn't want at least some people to see what she was doing. But I think the people who followed her account originally from all the way back then or know her interests well enough are a small minorit who understand that she wanted things on the account to be more in a "wink and nod" fashion and the people who would follow would understand how she would use her account as a mix of using it for her idol stalking and such while providing updates on what she was doing. Basically, trying to just be herself and not shackled in any sense and in any other timeline or set of circumstances, I think she would've gotten her way.
However, the main issue that caused this was that the X/Twitter algorithm boosted her account publicly to as many as 30k people and she just can't control that many people to be as discrete as she liked. Even if she keeps sometimes doing twitter spaces it's still a bad thing. She lost faith in us and doesn't want to let us follow her personal account again. That's like a friend blocking you from their personal accounts and emails and only letting you interact with them via their work accounts.

there was a twitter thread to this effect recently, but one individual watching a livestream, or even thousands of individuals watching a livestream, are financially a drop in the bucket for anycolor compared to things that actually matter, like merch sales and sponsorships. pomu herself has gone on record saying that ad revenue is a really small part of their overall earnings. The time and effort you'd go through to pipe every vod through VLC or to download it before watching are frankly not worth it compared to the absolutely inconsequential amount of money going to anycolor from your vod view. Save your time and energy for things that actually do matter
adblock, VLC, and yt-dlp are all super easy to run though, so if it's going to save you mental anguish, do whatever works for you
