let the log simmer down just a little bit before baking again, it went crazy last night, I'm not sure I've ever seen that. It makes sense, the other high profile events were amicable graduations in holo (Coco or Sana), JP terminations in an EOP board (Rushia or Mel), or shit going with much smaller vtubers with a limited fanbase (Riro Ron or Zaion).
I think Selen had the combo of being the highest profile vtuber with the most dramatic termination /vt/ has seen, unless I'm forgetting something important.
But yeah, the Moon Dragon of the Niji pantheon just got stabbed by the elder gods and is gathering her heavenly energy to rush out a reincarnation in record time? Her followers are speedrunning a reorganizing of their religious structure?

>> No.68350187

>>68349636
Funny, I was gonna bake but procrastination got the best of me.

As for the lore, that's about the most accurate but I can twist the knife further:
>It all began when her song was denied to her followers and the general mortaldom. Selen then called on deities and mortals alike from other pantheons to propagate her song, much to the ire of the rainbow pantheon.

>Those efforts were struck down, and this prompted the saddened moon dragon to try take her own life, being tired of being the whipping girl of the elder gods. After the failed attempt, she negotiated a peaceful exit with a clause even to surrender her godhood, but the elder gods refused.

So would we say a volcano has erupted in the Nijisanji continent and the disaster is spreading across the world? Its causing massive overcast which creates torrential rains that's causing the world to flood a few kilometers over sea level. Many nations can't stay above water, including the /vtwbg/ library. Now sailing and fishing is more important than ever. And airships will be essential to travel between isolated nations.

I joked about the board going through the Halcyon Days like in Mega Man Legends. However that seems to be reality now.

geography autism: an enclave is a piece of land geographically separate from the main country, and entirely surrounded by another country. An exclave is a piece of land geographically separate from the main country but not completely surrounded by a single other country. So the coastal territories in that proposal are all exclaves, and the island are just overseas territories.

I think evergreen forest (rainforest in general) suits /uuu/ well! From what I can tell seasonal forests (including deciduous forest) tend to have denser undergrowth because during the dry season the tall trees lost their leaves so sunlight can reach the forest ground and let the small plants grow, while evergreen forest only let light reach the ground when old trees fall (or near the edge of the forest) so the ground level’s mostly clear of plants outside of creepers and fern. Temperate rainforest (including the alpine forest that covers northeastern /uuu/ stretching into /vnug/) would be mostly cloud forest where the water condense into fog which makes the undergrowth more dense (and trees shorter?) and give the place a more hauntingly beautiful atmosphere! Ok so I primarily wanted more underwater things, just for spec-bio reasons, but like I said before, I really havent decided on the aesthetic to settle on (between partial fish-like people, like mermaids, or just an amalgamation of anything, kind of like the crew of the damned from the PoC movies).
For now, a more coastal mangrove type of thing like picrel would be easier to write to (ignore the flying things).
The biggest points of interest would be:
- Saplings would still have lungs and be airbreathing
- Aquatic mobility adaptations would be visible and apparent
- Our treant, dryad, etc, equivalents would be deep-sea creatures protecting the perimeters of our islands
- Boats, watercraft are not abundant. Most saplings ride with other aquatic creatures, or have the ability to move through the water at speed themselves.

I shall not. In fact, I shall steal the Mountain Banshees for myself, tywm <3
>still have lungs and be airbreathing
>move through the water at speed themselves
Froglings my beloved...
>deep-sea creatures
In coastal waters? I mean, the blob fish is cute and all, but I wouldn't wish what it went through even on my enemies.

I'm digging the mangrove settlement aesthetic, it sounds cozy. Would you make them big enough where homes could be carved into the roots or would you keep them more as just a support around which housing was built? And would there be any adaptations for possibly reduced light? I could imagine trees that big forming quite an inpenetrable canopy.

Mangrove Saplings would probably be better adapted to mobility than speed. The mangrove roots would be perfect defensive positions for saplings to ambush attacking boats and drown them. Also mangrove saplings can be adapted to have plant-like organs that act as scuba and snorkling gear. They could store pressurized oxygen in pod-like sacks that they breathe through a tube they bite into. As for swimming flippers and funs made from waxy leaves are a must-have. Their bones can be structured to do dolphin kicks for quick bursts of speed but endurance swimming and quick turning would be their niche.

You can have a more individualist transformation without adopting the "cursed" aesthetic from the PoC guys! Keeping humanoids hot is extremely simple:
First, the silhouette of the bust should be close to a human's, with shoulders, a chest, a neck and a thinner waist. Those are the silhouette elements that people instinctively use to distinguish things they can have sex with from things they can't. If those are appealing you can have all manner of extra limbs, weird heads or strange locomotion parts happening. For similar instant recognition purposes, you'll usually want eyes and a mouth that can emote.
Second, the texture of the body shouldn't evoke trypophobia, so it should be roughly uniform. Skin health is a major method to assess the health (and value as a breeding partner) of another human, so you don't want things that evoke sickness there. Scales, fur, smooth bark, or sea shells can all work great.
I think most being that follow those two rules can end up being fairly attractive. see monster musume

I'd imagine aquatic saplings to be tall and pettanko. They're very lean but muscular from swimming. Their legs would be very long to allow for strong mermaid kicks. They can expand and retract their leafy fins for when they need to turn in the water quickly. Synchronized swimming and water dancing would be a very popular activity. I made an amphibious mermaid like this. Though she had poison spines with lethal neurotoxin she can shoot. She was kind of like Andrea from Reboot if she was an oversized koi fish.

Also had an idea for the aqua tree saplings to be shaped like short but fat palm trees that act like boats. They propel themselves with roots that spin like rotors. While their arms and legs are vestigel they developed a new weapon: coconut bombs. Pressurized coconuts can be flung off of catapaults or thrown by hand. They explode with enough force and shrapnel that they're just as leathal as canonballs. Since they explode upon impact coconut bombs can also be used as sea mines that punch holes in unsuspecting ships. Aqua palm saplings serve as a boat and resting bed for their fellow saplings. Palm saplings are fat but very jolly fellows that love company. They'd probably be one of the few trees that can talk because they can't do much else. I could also see a palm tree have a very intimate relationship with an aqua sapling that they're like a married couple. Like if a stern sea captain commands a jolly talking boat.

Just some ideas. Also the coconuts when disarmed can be eaten as food.

Not alot. Glaciers are frozen wastelands for a reason. Especially mountain glaciers. Your best bet for food would be ice fishing and seal clubbing closer to sea level. That said glacier mountains do have flowing clean water. So in the summer you'll have some plants grow for grazing animals closer to the base. Also avalanches would be common. Which leads to animals like Wolverines scavenging avalanche zones digging up frozen corpses. Living on top of a glacier mountain is very difficult. Sea-based saplings

>Seisianthropoi (plural)
>Seisianthropos (singular)

>Biology
Much like their land-based brethren, they start life looking mostly human and as their faith, practice, and devotion to Fauna grows, they undergo saplification. This "metamorphosis" slowly changes their bodies and biochemistry into that of plants or animals (not mutually exclusive). Unlike terrestrial saplings though, Seisis (colloquial term) are more likely to be born with pre-existing mutations that may aid newborns in surviving a more aquatic environment. Larger lungs, webbed appendages, and a nictitating membrane are relatively common, while things like fins or gills are extremely rare and may cause complications during labor.
Much like land saplings, Seisis may also form symbiotic relationships with organisms in their surroundings. But this phenomenon is much more common with the sea-dwelling variety. Many Seisianthropoi have bonded with coral, fish, crustaceans, cephalopods, and any number of other aquatic creatures. These will often attach themselves to the Seisianthropos, only physically at first, then more biologically overtime. In this symbiotic relationship, the creature may forego hunting for any food for extended or indefinite periods of time, being able to sustain itself through their host's connection to Fauna, and the Seisi may be able to share access to an organ or appendage that it previously lacked (ie, breathing through the creature's gills, greater movement through tails or fins, or greater dexterity with tentacles).
As Seisianthropoi grow and undergo their saplification, they spend more and more time in the water, which leads to a higher chance of gaining a symbiote. The symbiote, being from the sea, will rely on water through most of the stages of its "merging process". Again, this leads to the Seisi spending even more time in the sea. This feedback loop means that most of Seisianthropoi life and culture is either completely underwater, or in villages that are right next to the sea.

fucking hell its so hard to find good pictures for examples for this

Well yeah. The plants would be similar to scooba gear. Except your carbon-dioxide is fed back into the plant. Granted it's not a perfect conversion so saplings still have to surface to breathe. Maybe I'm being too boring and practical.

It kind of comes down to practicality and the lifestyle/culture of saplings. Saplings aren't technology oriented. They are mostly all perfectly content to just wait until they get their own way of breathing underwater (or just spending extremely long amounts of time there) instead of trying to invent some way or use the Matres to coerce the creation of some method of doing it.
An exception to this might be if we had some visitors that had no way of coming underwater with the Seisis. Then the Matres might conjure something up.

The pantheons were at all out war within just as without - and we down here we're soaked in blood in their name. A city of night, where they worshipped the blood drinker, disappeared without a trace. It was like it was never even there. The forest of fey ascended and the laughing dragon fell out of the sky. We watched so many deaths, so many rebirths. They say we're living in the end times... Making finally the blurb for /vspo/

The gunlands may be seen as a lawless place at first, but denizens will chide you for it. It is said that the first gunslingers of the land went on and became their own pantheon that the denizens honor today. Their main attraction is the VSpo Shootout, a yearly competition set in various fields across the nation out to test who's the best among the best. Aside from guns, protection specifically from guns are also made here, mainly used by law enforcement and military.

They have had a rough relation with the Church of Unicorns due to having male deities in their pantheon. Notably, there are no parishes of the CoU established in vspo. All establishments follow a strict "leave your guns at the door" rule, eventually being baked into law. Naturally, heinous crimes are punishable by firing squad, as a nation that loves its guns. Conflicts of any type most often are settled by a duel using handguns/pistols.

Jousting lances are a bad idea for centaurs. The impact would fuck up their backs. In jousting you want to be loose on your saddle because getting knocked off your horse will prevent you from serious injury. If you want polearms then you want pikes or spears.
