The correct way to handle this was to put out a brief statement about her being terminated with boilerplate language due to "irreconcilable differences" and "we are deeply saddened" and "we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."

Not whatever... whatever the fuck this was. They seem to have decided to just do as much damage as they could to her on her way to justify their already grossly unprofessional conduct.

The most amazing thing to me in all of this is that it's clear that all the exact same people remain in charge after Zaion's botched termination. A real, professional company would have quietly removed the managers who did so much damage to the company's reputation. Instead they seem to have just been rolling along, business as usual, and created a disaster even bigger than Zaion leaving.

When Pomu graduated I was out. They were mishandling Selen already and it was obvious Pomu didn't want to go but due to how things were ran she thought the best decision was to leave. People watch vtubers to be entertained, not to have drama after drama after drama pushed into their face. The one two punch of Selen and Pomu gone, especially under the circumstances in which they left, will make a lot of people reconsider supporting Nijisanji in any way. It happened with Kawaii with the gen 3 walk out, and it's happening here. It'll be a miracle if as much or more people turn up for the next waves debut as TTT. It might garner Luxiem level interest or lower, effectively making them go back two years in time. You may think things are going well in /NijiEN/, but you're the minority with having a neutral or positive opinion of Nijisanji now. Nijisanji has earned their current reputation.

They are the shittiest "friends" in existence. The bullying issue irks me more because this would be the 2nd case of terminated members bringing that up. Other than that, as cruel as it is to say, Selen should've known that stepping out of line won't be met with positive response.
>>68273638
Nijisanji may be aware that their reputation used to be better, and given that it's profit-first, how else are you going to keep the investors other than painting the talent that you're firing in the worst image possible? That's pure business. Harsh world, but this is the reality.
>>68273814
Mel didn't mention suicide attempts. Mel was also not mentioned to have broken the contract in the past, unlike Selen, neither was she a true pillar of the branch, and that's without belittling her role in Hololive, which was pretty big, but nowhere as big as "one of THE vtubers" or something.
Those are not the same.
>>68273990
Read the 2nd reply. Roa's case is also a bit more complicated, if that's what you're referring to. And leaving people in the limbo would've been even worse, tbdesu. Ending things right here and there leaves no loose ends and is a better solution long-term.

>In large bodies of water, the temperature drops slowly the deeper one dives. That change can, if the descent is slow enough, feel almost imperceptible. Yet at a certain point, the water temperature drops sharply and alarmingly. This point is the thermocline—a near-physical barrier where warm water meets cold. The shift between the two is sudden and dramatic.

>In business, particularly digital services or businesses relying on a subscription revenue model, trust works in the same way. Wired into those products and services is a “trust thermocline.” It is a point which, once crossed, otherwise healthy businesses and products suddenly collapse.

>The easiest way to understand how trust thermoclines work is to look at how they fail. Content services, both print and digital, are particularly prone to these failures. So are social media networks or businesses that focus on delivering quality-of-life monthly services—from TV streaming to beers of the month. Broadly, any business in which the consumer forming an emotional relationship with the product contributes to adoption is at risk of such failures.

>In most cases, that failure follows a pattern: the company or service will be growing, whether in users or revenue, and perhaps rolling out new products that are bundled within an expanded subscription, or showing good adoption on their own. In many cases, there will not even seem to be a new rival in the market, with existing ones failing to threaten them through market share. Then suddenly, over a short period of time, sales and user numbers collapse. Consumers move to seemingly inferior products or simply disengage completely from the business.

>The thermocline has been crossed.

I don't know how much of a bitch you have to be to simply suck it up that your troglodyte manager wasted YOUR 15k dollars after fucking up multiple events before.
Fucking them over on your way out is the least that you can do.

Blame nijien management for throwing the WHOLE branch under the bus to "protect" themselves.

Even without that, getting attached to any Niji talent is a losing proposition. Who wants to watch someone they care about slowly get more and more depressed until they're unceremoniously killed and dumped out the back?

I subbed from every Niji I followed. Can't support the company anymore. Sad because a lot of the individual talents are blameless but it's just how it is. I hope everyone graduates and finds something better.

I can't believe I'm here to see the day Niji got Final Yabbed. It's a surreal kind of feel.
