Do we really know all the info? Selen was suicidal at the time, and Nijisanji wouldn't hesitate to throw talent under the bus regardless of any wrongdoing on their own part. For example if the last minute policy change rrat is true, you have to grandfather in large projects in process, especially ones out of your talents' own pocket. I don't mean this in an offensive way because I do feel bad for her even though I never watch Niji. But there's almost 0% chance she is going to get hired by a publicly traded corpo any time soon after recently admitting to attempting to take her own life over work drama/stress. I'd love to see Selen land in Hololive, particularly given the Mumei connection and being able to goof off with Axel and Altare. But it's unlikely; Cover is legally partnered with anycolor as part of an initiative to fight stalkers and the amorphous blob of what Japan considers "defamation" so it is highly unlikely that either company will do anything overtly antagonistic to the other. Not only that but that's not really how hololive debuts talents, in one offs.
