My cat was a feral rescue too when I first found her she was very thin and weak and was living inside of abandoned car. Her fur was cover with grease and the first thing I did was took her home bathe her to remove the car grease out her fur fed her then took her to a vet. These days she's healthy and very attached to me. To the point that if I'm not in the house she'll just lay on my laundry until I get back. I'm sure most people here who have their issues with cats either treat their cats badly or never were patient with their cat until the cat became used to them.
