It feels like there is a lack of good multiplayer games in general
Valo and League are pretty embedded in JP streaming, CS2 is rough still and not too appealing for JPs, Halo Infinite had a rough launch which kinda killed momentum for the game, Battlefield is dog and not too well suited for streaming, CoD aswell. Smite 2 and another Tribes are coming out but those are also eeeeeeh. There is Tarkov and Arena but I dunno if they'll push it in Japan or if they'll push esports when Arena releases.
You also have fighting games, but the fact that they aren't team games kinda kills it for a lot of streamers it feels like.

I do agree, I don't even particularly like SF6 and I think it's a shame this CR Cup is SF6 again instead of say, Tekken, but team tournaments are always fun. The problem for a streamer though is that it's not easy making stuff for a fighting game, especially if you aren't great at the game, the ranked grind kinda works in Valo and Apex for example, but grinding a fighting game ranked is kinda pain. Not saying you can't do it and a lot of people do in fact do that, but it's not the best stuff to watch sometimes.
