I think it is less about "needing" money for the MV and more about just offsetting costs a bit while generating content for streams. I'm sure she could easily afford it outright since if she truly couldn't afford it and had to raise money for it just taking a sponsor stream would make her FAR more money for much less effort or opening commissions as not mori and avoiding youtube/cover cuts entirely and charging a proper amount for her level of art since most of the same people sending supers for art follow her there too. I usually take a few overtime shifts or side jobs if I buy something expensive even though I could easily afford it outright. Once you make enough money where you are sticking a decent amount into savings every paycheck and not immediately having to use it for living day to day working you discover every extra bit you work really adds up in money saved.
