Sounds neat, but I prefer to see older girls playing older games. Always felt like Ina playing Suikoden or some GBA/DS Pokemon game would be a gift from the heavens per example, even if the perms would be horrid to obtain.

tl;dr, Other M was completely butchered in translation, to the point of total character assassination of Samus and Adam, and losing most of the main plot in general, along with all intrigue and subtext. It still has problems in Japanese, but it's not at all the travesty that we got in the west.

No, but it doesn't need to be. The meaning of the scene is different because of the context building up to it. Obviously I can't summarize it all, but tl;dr, she's been obsessively chasing an ideal of strength (partly due to her different relationship with Adam), and seeing her child self at that moment isn't a literal flashback to her past with Ridley, but a representation of remaining weakness within her, which she had been in denial about. See 31:32.
