Here’s an updated version of the card I made last year. Not much has changed except for polishing up rough edges. I may revisit this again but I already consider this done. I started it as a curious test on how well an AI can juggle multiple characters and the concept of airsoft. Given how quickly models got better in the span of mere months, the test essentially became near pointlessly trivial. It was also a personal challenge to flesh out 5 characters while keeping the token count tight and the descriptions readable. The greeting was actually the hardest, I’m not very good at those. Meanwhile, my favorite discovery was the fact that a pair of [square brackets] were enough to separate everyone. I fully expected to have to fight the model with xml tags and quotation marks. Instead of really roleplaying I just ask the AI to come up with facts about each girl.

One thing you can do is clearly separate them in the card description, like I did with my Fuwamoco card, fwiw it was a struggle to get the smaller models to work right whereas bigger models can handle it fairly well

dual-character or dual-personality (with distinct names) cards are one way to make the split between behavior types cleaner, yes. Even then I've seen some mixing. What we really need is some kind of secondary model that runs alongside the main one and monitors the current scene and selectively inserts or removes tagged sections of the description...but I'm not a programmer

What's the best free/cheap alternative to GPT4? I deeply love GPT4's detail (even if it has a habit of liking to use the word 'mischief') but so far I haven't found one that competes. I remember when I used Kobold before I liked that, but mythomist/mix/whatever never seems to hit the same emotional note and sometimes the dialog can feel stilted.
I also tried the proxy that was provided before but that didn't work unless I'm somehow retarded on agnai but y'know.

There's no true 'alternative' in terms of a similar quality level (4 is the best LLM in the world by a fair margin, after all) but you could try:

- 4 turbo (around 90% as good as base 4 and 1/3 the price, but has a few weird prose tendencies)

- a claude proxy (hard to get ahold of but almost as good - better depending on your tastes)

Huh, as someone that can run 70B and 120B models, I actually swapped over to Mixtral fine tunes as my favorite. It can run complicated cards fairly well but requires a more particular system prompt / settings. However, once that's dialed in you are rewarded with a ton more context; and after using 32k I can't exactly go back to the 10k or so with 70B (after which it starts going schizo even with proper alpha settings.)
