Management has no power over who they associate with, anon. The only time something like this has come up was when Kson joined a competing company and, due no doubt to some clause in her contract, Kanata decided that it would be better if they didn't live together anymore in case either of them inadvertently violated their respective NDA's and two individuals from competing firms living together would increase the chances of this happening for both of them. Management didn't force them, they decided they didn't want the hassle hanging over their heads.
It didn't stop "Mel" and "Choco" hanging out, on stream no less, with Kson months later. Rushia the bridgeburner hasn't been mentioned so that case cannot be referred to as it is different from Mel's situation.

Some members just deal with her termination off-stream, some were just co-workers and gave her proper respect but went back to work because there's no time to rest, some probably didn't care much about her in the first place. Sadly, that's the difference between "graduation" and "termination" - one is properly prepared with a bunch of streams where people who care say their goodbyes (as long as member is willing to have graduation in the first place - I've heard that some graduations in holostars didn't have that at the request of graduated talents themselves), one happens abruptly and neither do you get a chance to properly say goodbye nor is it publicly celebrated because it still happened due to inappropriate actions.
There are also other factors
>public image might not reflect the actual state of things - some members can act buddy-buddy on streams but in reality they're just co-workers who wanted to put on a good show for fans (this is not exclusive just to vtubing but to entertainment in general, especially japanese one - I've seen this among japanese comedians and seiyuu many times for years)
>unfortunately, Mel wasn't a huge pillar of hololive (a thing that everyone in Gen 1 outside of FBK shares together) and there is a chance she didn't leave as much of an impact as Rushia's termination did, at least in terms of public reaction (not talking about graduations here and not mentioning Aloe's termination because nobody outside of Gen 4 really knew her), but that doesn't imply people don't care at all - some of them would rather reflect this situation in privacy, either in memberships or alone

I have a feeling that a memo was passed around by management to get holos to tone things down. The boat just took a direct hit and they need to stabilize things lest it all go to shit in short order.
This was all so sudden that even if they were truly free to speak, I don't think many would even know what to say. It's all so shocking and surreal.
I don't think they've been fully gagged, but nobody wants want things to fall apart any more than they already perhaps are. Matsuri can't hold it in but take her as one that simply cannot control themselves and see that the others feel the same, they are simply more professional about it because they have to be.
Also the other girls have their own fanbases to whom they are beholden. I understand that. They are contractually obligated to be happy for their own respective fanbases. They're all on the same team, and they need to keep morale up and at least the appearance that "nothing happened".
I would believe that any real grieving will be done behind closed doors.
Additionally, no holos want to capitalize or been seen as capitalizing on this tragedy like some clipnig drama channel.
Don't believe for a second that they simply "don't care". Remember that these girls hung out with eachother besides work related stuff.
