For example, I've been posting about this girl, our favorite cooking chuuba Mayu Kosaka.

I think the most important things are inciting dramas and baiting for (You)s. Those 2 stuff are the things that can derail number discussion and we can see an example of it right next door.

Talking about drama without involving in rrat-making is ok, e.g., talking about how the JP sites are talking about the drama, or compiling what happened that leads to a high ccv stream (like the Suisei explanation stream). However obvious posts, e.g., posting an image where Suisei is under the desk while Sakuma streams Suika game should be ignored and not give them any (You)s.
A delicate balance sure but real dramas that is not just rrats are few and far between surprisingly, so all in all everyone just has to focus on number discussion and it would be fine.

And by the way, ENs are allowed if the context is related to numbers and JP side of stuff.

Comparing to YT's 936k is definitely less. Her discussion on NGA, which is the mainland Chinese' main forum for vtubers is few and far between, very little discussion about her.

She, or her Chinese manager is uploading content frequently on b2, with semi regular reuploads of her livestreams and all of the videos from Youtube. The important streams are subbed, for example the streams about her marriage 2 years ago was fully subbed. Judging from the engagement of the posts, she is not that popular, most posts have 3 to 5 comments. The highest comments of her recent post was a clip about her collab with Amamiya Kokoro and Kagura Mea with total of 36 comments. I am assuming that people went to that clip solely because of Mea.

All in all, I can conclude that she is less popular in China that in Japan, still more people know about her in China than the anglosphere I presume. Chinese and Japanese both probably just see her as "that MC who collabs with most vtubers I watch".

Tamaki still have some hardcore fans left. She was a mangaka first and foremost, and there was a time none knew she had a lover/husband.
You have to also consider that she's leading a corpo, like Hal. If you watch Neo-porte, you at least must know Hal if not also watching him. The same case goes for NoriPro, even though some of that definitely looks questionable now with what happened towards the end of 2023.

Most of the JP watchers are either hololive, nijisanji, vspo and they have their own threads. Indies usually go to vsinger. I understand that some would want a /JP corpo + indies/ thread here like /vyt/ back in the days, but it might not be feasible in the previous forms due to the drifting in cultures and the expansion of each groups in their own. If you don't have a core topic in the thread, everyone are just going to talk about the circle of vtubers they follows because they have no idea about other groups of vtubers they don't watch.
