My personal headcanon is that combined veterinary experience from cattle ranching and helping ma and pa tend to the most seriously ill of Beltbuckle's elderly means that she's got a firm grasp of what works for most things, even if she doesn't always know what the things she'd need to cure a person are called.

Enough experience can overshadow booklearnin' pretty easily. Caring for animals is way harder than humans since you're having to diagnose based on reactions and observation rather than conversation. Sounds to me like Scout was brought up in an environment that had her on the frontline of both animal and family care for the majority of her life.

For a future example, Dr. Nice and Scout's combined skills should be able to get Yuul back on her feet quickly enough. Scout may not know which bottles contain what, but she knows HOW to dress a wound properly and WHEN to change it. Efficient, proper redressing is one of the biggest factors in rapid recovery.

In 2e, Morality is replaced by Integrity, where each character has "breaking points" that would cause them make a willpower check or otherwise fall closer into slasherhood. Scout having to kill her parents would definitely count as a breaking point

She actually shouldn't qualify for Roadkill. Aggressive Driving is also a merit and Roadkill requires the merit, not the specialty. It's kinda insane too since Roadkill essentially doubles the damage dealt by ramming and knocks down targets she rams even when the vehicle misses.

In 1e you could get Derangements from Morality loss, which was pretty much just pointless White Wolf edge. Basically it made everyone who did bad stuff mentally ill, which is stupid for a host of reasons. 2e's version, Integrity, still has a moral component but it's much more about your mental stability rather than you just being good or bad. The attached is pretty much the whole core rules section on it. Flaws don't exist in 2e either, replaced with Conditions which also replaced Derangements. But Dramatic Failures on a Breaking Point roll will give you a Persistent Condition which is essentially the same deal as a Derangement. Except here it's no a response to trauma instead of a response to immorality.

Killing her parents is easily a -5 modifier on the roll, and killing in self-defence is -4, which wipes out any bonus she'd get from high Integrity. Total modifiers on a Breaking Point roll should really exceed +/-5, which would make it a 1 die roll, but I'd be tempted to break that rule. It's really an event well past what Integrity is built to typically simulate, and so it makes the most narrative sense to drop her down to a Chance Die for this roll. If she rolls at 1 die that's a 30% chance to succeed and not lose Integrity, a Chance Die is what you roll when you dice pool is less than 1. Instead of 8+ being a success, only 10 is a success and everything else is a failure with a 1 being dramatic. However, if they fail on either roll I would push them to turn their failure into a dramatic failure (which they can do for a Beat (1/5 XP) once a scene) as that is the most narratively exciting option. That would give them a Persistant Condition to show the long-term effects of what happened. I'd got with Broken, which is as follows;

>Whatever you did or saw, something inside you snapped. You can barely muster up the will to do your job anymore, and anything more emotionally intense than a raised voice makes you flinch and back down. Apply a -2 to all Social rolls and rolls involving Resolve, and a -5 to any use of the Intimidation Skill.
>Beat: You back down from a confrontation or fail a roll due to this Condition. If you regain a dot of Integrity, lose another dot of Integrity, or achieve an exceptional success on a breaking point, you can shed this Condition.

Integrity works so much better than Morality does too, especially in HtV2e where it's a really big part of The Code. Low Integrity Hunters aren't exactly a problem though, there are upsides and downsides to it. They get a lot more leeway in what triggers Breaking Points and they get Vigilant as a Persistent Condition which can be pretty great. If you're Vigilant you have to spend Willpower to avoid looking into potential supernatural dangers (which is good and bad, hard to ignore hooks), it makes you jumpy and easily Spooked as you're always looking over your shoulder, but it lets Virtues grant Willpower in excess of your total and it grants a Beat when you alienate a normal person because of the Vigil. If you get really low you become more withdrawn you instead become Merciless. Works basically the same except now its your Vices that let you exceed maximum Willpower, and you can get a Beat from alienating other Hunters too. But dropping lower removes Breaking Points from your Code too. The major issue with it detachment from Touchstones, that's always bad. None of that is gonna be a thing that matters because they won't be using 2e rules.

Just to clarify though, resisting Integrity loss from a Breaking Point isn't based on Willpower. It's a Resolve + Composure roll. Resolve + Composure is also what determines your max Willpower but spending Willpower through a session doesn't decrease your dice pool for Breaking Points.

She shouldn't have Aggressive Driving or Roadkill on her sheet. Aggressive Driving's prerequisites are Resolve •••, Fast Reflexes •••, Drive •••, she doesn't have any dots in Fast Reflexes or enough dots in Resolve. But I understand why she thinks she can. The link Calli sent them had the Roadkill Merit on it with it's prerequisite of "Aggressive Driving ••", which she obviously took to mean a Specialty in Drive, and at least 2 dot in Drive.

Roadkill doesn't actually double damage though, it only doubles it for damage calculated from the speed of the impact. In 2e damage dealt from a collision is Vehicle Size + (Speed / 10). Her van is size 18, its speed is 80 and it can reach 1.5x that as maximum, meaning it'll do 12 extra damage at max speed. So Roadkill equates to a little over a third extra damage at max speed (which is never gonna happen), not double.

Very old WoD DM here. I don't know how Werewolf changed after the 4th edition, but anything related to werewolf would make any normal human start having hallucinations and go insane, unless they have some kind of protection, like mages have their avatar and such. Now for a god level monster like a Nexus Crawler, even if they do have a protection they would need a Willpower save to don't start going insane, even werewolves need to do that. Also, if such a thing materialize be sure it would make a army of werewolves and mages would notice and go there in no time.

Well, it'd be a bit of a mess to do really. They're not actually playing oWoD, so using oWoD rulings require a bit of work. WtF2e does have a fairly similar stand-in though, in the form of a Maeltinet's Glimpse of Hell which is one of their Dark Numina, which would be similar to a Bane Charm. That's how I'd handle it. I can explain how the actual mechanics of such a thing work if you care.

Well that's sort of the thing, they don't end up insane regardless. Well they don't end up insane at all, just scared. Delirium's effects scale based on the Willpower of the target. Willpower in CofD is calculated entirely differently, and is comparatively much more expensive to acquire than in oWoD. So it's way easier for an oWoD character to resist Delirium than a CofD character. Lunacy instead works of Breaking Points, which while being the same dice pools as your max Willpower has the benefit of modifiers based on the situation, and your Integrity. Lunacy also doesn't trigger instantly, it can happen after the threat has passed or you've gotten a movement to breath. So it's not instantly fucking you over. Lunacy working off of Breaking Points means it's also XP gen, and it giving Conditions is more XP, so using oWoD rules screws them out of Beats unless you compensate. Delirum also doesn't have the Integrity loss associated with it, and it's actual effects can be far more deadly and the often take control away from PCs. CofD doesn't really do no-roll effects like Delirium either.

They're comparable mechanics, but not really close. So it'd take a little bit of work to use one in place of the other, which is why I'd suggest Glimpse of Hell as it's Lunacy rules for Wounded Spirits. That's all super besides the point and avoids why I didn't get into the actual rules anyway, because it doesn't matter. Nexus Crawlers don't even trigger Delirium in mortals, they trigger in in Garou, mortals just flee.

If you want to argue she's so advanced and good at medicine she should qualify as an EMT, you're wrong, but its not that much of a stretch.
Three dots is actually MD medicine. Real surgery made on real people in an actual OT using real tools after you finish your college education and do four years of internship. "I've worked on cattle" is not "I could easily work as a surgeon in a hospital", which is what three dots literally is.

In doubt for skills in WoD, ask yourself if your character could pass as a "real" doctor, like in Catch me if you can.
Could scout pass as a licenced vet nurse? Yeah probably. Two dots.
Could scout pass as a hospital doctor or a surgeon? No. Not three dots.

I think you'd be genuinely surprised at how little room for rules the average non-ttrpg player has.
Playing it safe the first session will never be a bad idea. Explaining to people that 18 intelligence is "extremely intelligent, easily the smartest you've seen" and their character is not a normal person but a mensa chair at 13 is hard.
People want to be normal because of classic hero journey conditioning but they also like big numbers and lots of dots on every skill. Three pips on medicine as an untrained farmer is insane, but WoD gives you points and you need to put those points somewhere.
No one *actually* wants to play a normal baseline human, you or me. Its an empty sheet.

Character sheet reworks have been heavily mentioned in several of their streams. Yuul, Watoto, and Kiara went off of their initial sheets for their tutorial sessions (Kiara did a little tweaking beforehand). The only reason Scout is so well-rounded is because Gura went through like four or five drafts and spent her off-hours reading the material, finalizing the sheet the day before her tutorial.

Pic related was her first concept: a blind mail delivery girl who specc'd heavily in stealth, to the point of almost being able to manipulate the very shadows around her. There's a HUGE amount of fanart of her; chumbud were really banking on shadow lady being her pick.

Tiara is described as shy and demure, both in relation to her noble upbringing as well as her status as a foreigner in Mythton. Yes, everyone knows Kiara's explosive extrovertedness will completely bury that aspect of Tiara in time, but going off of the initial description, Tiara is definitely the most wife-able girl. She only went full aggression when Uhu went missing, which was understandable.

Scout's a rough-raised country girl, abrasive and mistrustful of outsiders. She was pretty civil with the locals, and the doctor merely aroused her suspicion, but when shit got real she showed her true self and rescued him from certain death.

7.62x54 is a big fucking round tho. Shotguns and large firearms can mess up vampires, but it's only bashing damage. And if they spend blood, they can heal bashing damage basically instantly. Not to mention that body armor wouldn't reasonably stop a vampire grappling and eating a swat officer.

Their main campaign hits 100k though their other streams average much lower. Their most recent sessions was 20/30 for example. But it’s four newbies using anime avatars playing fucking Hunter, which I bet 95% of CRs audience has never heard of much less played. They are solidly in the number two spot which is sort of insane given how niche it is. I played oWOD and I’d never heard of nexus crawlers, Pentex, or fetches until this series. I really hope it becomes a long running series so everyone can get over the usual newbie issues and get super invested.

Breaking good dialogue scenes with rolling is a pet peeve of mine. When Scout was backtalking her dad stopping to roll for social skills would've been a bad decision I feel. It does break gameplay a little but well worth is long as the players are going it organically and not metagaming.

Yeah, like the other anons said. Angels, and therefor Demons, are robotic in CofD. Angels are the drones of the God-Machine, and unfathomably vast and powerful cosmic super computer. It makes Angels to further its various goals, and Cheonsa is one such Angel. Angels are capable of taking "Covers" which are non angelic shapes to help them blend in and do their jobs, Cheonsa's Cover is actually three people at once, and those three people are a K-Pop trio. A flaw of Covers is these things called "Glitches", which basically mark them out as being non-human in some fashion. The Glitch that Cheonsa's Covers have are circuit board patterns across their skin. Instead of hiding it like most would they've opted to totally flaunt it, but they're a k-pop group so they get away with it by acting like it's a fashion statement. As they're a pretty popular group in-universe this has caught on to their fans and they'll use a similar aesthetic for tattoos and other things.

>All of the three facets bear neon, circuit-like markings across their arms. Blue for Hana, lime green for Du, and crimson for Se. Nobody has remarked on this. In fact, it quickly became the fashion for young women to draw circuits on their bodies. For a while, this trend was the obsession for many teenagers and young women. It is also a blatant and daring provocation to the Unchained, who have to hide the brands and marks of shame that will give away their demonic selves and blow their Covers.

So it'd just be a cool little detail to include on a character that's taken a lot of influence from Korean pop fasion. Cheonsa in general is just really cool, and probably would be a thing that'd resonate a lot with people here. Given the whole idol overlap. Something else to mention about them though, is their true angelic form is really bad ass.

>In combat, Cheonsa transform into bright, metallic humanoid figures, barely recognizably feminine at all, their limbs crisscrossed in circuitry and gears. Where the heads normally are, wide mouths of trumpets blast out noise. Their upper limbs are flagellants, lashing at opponents.
