The part about ex NijiEN members can't be shown except for management approved exceptions is such a baffling rule that a part of me thinks it has to be real. That does seem to reflect how management will be extremely strict with most of their vtubers but will make exceptions for their favorite talents. Pomu got tired of Nijisanji management and realized that if she didn't redebut soon that she would have to put up with garbage management for the rest of her career and it seems like Selen is about to make that same decision.

There's a possibility that is true, but there's something off that doesnt make sense to me.
If it's a video that was done in good will for the NijiEN family, why would that same family say "no, i dont want to be in your video", there's no drawback to it, this seems to suggest that some of her coworkers are not very fond of Selen to go as far to reject being part of her project.
Also the rule about not including exNijis happening right after the video seems too sudden.

I dont know, man. At some points it seems believable enough, but there are some fine details.

well that would make sense at least that nijiEN would have some beef with showing off graduated members officially, when the usual policy is ex-members usually are swept under the rug (hololive does this too not gonna lie).

thing is, management should have just reviewed the video and been like "ok we will be fine with this if you cut the scene with mysta/nina and ask everyone else in it if they are OK with this." done. it would have been QC'ed and gone up and nobody would have known there was a snafu. so for them to wait until it goes up and then rugpull it and apparently double down on never putting it back up, making Selen eat her time and effort and money for it... dude. that IS black company shit.

At least from the HoloEN side, I can't imagine that harebrained "nooo you have to get triple-faxed permissions beforehand from every person who appears in the video even just for 2 seconds!!!"-rule applies, given for example how many "easter eggs" Kanauru likes to sneak in his typical MVslops usually.

I really doubt that every japanese corpo is doing this to the extent that is implied by that screenshot. Niji owns the ip so why would Selen need to ask permission from the talents instead of just directly asking permission from a manager who can get back to her and say, "Yeah you're approved to use these models" it's retarded that would be the case but that's a running trend.
The only issue with perms I can think of is with the graduated chuubas but Marine's music video with Rushia prove that's at the very least not how every corpo does it and it makes sense because the corpo still owns that IP of graduated characters.
