It's bizarre that people shit on Fauna for this when she's one of the most friendly and engaged tubers in holoEN. The biggest yab ever involving her was saying something a few people didn't love, it wasn't even insulting or offensive like other talents, it was just too sincere given the medium.

That said I do think the correct way to do vtubing is in the vein of fuwamoco, Pekora, and Senchou, you need to prioritize the kayfabe and the entertainment aspect of your streaming persona above everything, especially genuine emotional feeling.

I think they don't actually have contingency plans. They're not very good at recovering from an issue. Just for example, when Fuwawa's avatar stopped working during a Mario Kart stream, they didn't have a png Fuwawa ready to replace her. When things go wrong, they just panic over it and make things worse. I don't think they realize that something going wrong can actually make things more interesting if they just embraced it. They make a big deal of how bad it was that things didn't go as planned and that just turns what could've been a funny unexpected event into a negative experience for the viewers.

Just some examples of her general playstyle:
She enters a room, looks at one thing and leaves ignoring everything else and is then surprised that the game tells her she missed things.
She presses a button, something starts making noise but she turns around and leaves without seeing what's happening.
She sees 3 buttons, presses two of the buttons but doesn't bother to ever press the third one.
There is a space station flying through space with a hole to enter it. She tries to enter the hole, bumps the edge of it and decides that it's inaccessible and never comes back, missing a very important part of the game that the chat has been malding over for the past 10 episodes.

She's been like this for the entire playthrough. She can't pay attention to anything and has goldfish memory. She doesn't experiment with anything in the game and is constantly lost and confused about everything. It may be one of the dumbest Let's Plays ever recorded for this game.

Fuwawa is a master at controlling the experience. While the visible part of her genuinely spills into a puddle in an uncontrolled manner, she has a deeper layer that pretty much always maintains control, even when you think she lost it, making the best of every situation. Basically, even when she fails on the surface-level situation, the outcome always magically ends up a good overall experience, resulting in you loving her more or finding her even cuter.
Mococo is more like a fallible human being (both are demon dogs btw) with genuine ups and downs (for example the Moco-santa stream was a bit stiff and lead to a slight confusion between normal chats and SCs, and ended without closure to unanswered wishes. It's hard to pinpoint specific moments but you'll see the difference if you pay attention). Of course, we are compassionate towards her, accepting that some things go better than others.
Fuwawa however, appears to never disappoint or fail in any significant way. You never feel a need to accommodate or understand her faults like you do for Mococo, because she's already appears perfect, there's only love and passion. That's why people with unrealistic expectations love her. Fuwawa's dorky and charming demeanor is, while of course an important part of her, also a diversion from her near invisible, powerful hand that controls everything. I of course appreciate her fluffying up the experience so skillfully, but my ultimate dream is to disarm this defense, give her totally naked, unconditional love.

I found the clip where moona joins their collab and starts shilling holostars, although I actually misremembered it slightly. They did in fact go quiet and ignore the subject... however mococo is the one who changed the subject and started small talk with fuwawa. bijou was also there and similarly didn't really react, but unlike fuwamoco, she was clearly caught off guard and didn't know what to do, so she just sat there awkwardly
