Coming from mainly watching JP vtubers, I had my own doubts about western vtubing when the EN branch launched. I still don't follow the western sphere of vtubing very much so I don't know if anything has really changed but regular streamers donning live2d avatars were considered a vtuber at the time. During a drawing stream Pomu had dismissed those types of people as not really vtubers and that was when I knew at least she was a real one.

Anytime someone I know quits their job my usual reaction is to congratulate them since either it was because they found something better or they really hated that job. Definitely try Vantacrow. He has similar vibe to Holo boys and does a lot of endurance streamer and double/triple streams per day. The issue is that he stream at ungodly hours of PST nighttime, so it might be hard to catch him live. The closest to endurance streamers are Ike who did 15 hours Persona endurance stream, Sonny who did like 8 hours of Zelda and Aster who did like 8 hours of Apex, but those are rare occurances, rather than the norm for them. If you want female endurance streamers, try Reimu, Elira, Scarle, Maria and Kotoka.
