The break won't end because it is indefinite. Taking her (and Ame) at face value, burnout has been setting in hard for these girls to the point where they're just about done but don't want to actually leave/are contractually prevented from leaving. So they just do nothing and Cover won't announce any type of break for them because 1) HoloEN management is notoriously bad at communicating, 2) HoloJP won't announce because it's not their lane and Japanese companies are very strict with departments and hierarchies, and 3) if they announce, it'll just cause more drama and speculation so the best move is to literally do nothing.
