Vtubers are still popular. However, you need to be aware that there is a non-insignificant number of people who come mainly to start, inflame, and look at drama/misinformation.
The generals are more quiet, however people have been known to false flag and deliberately push loaded statements/questions.

It's mainly a board for people to run deep cover psyops, subvert and divide fanbases, destroy generals, and make vtubers graduate. The vtubers know this but they keep coming here and reading/posting in their own threads.

In terms of posting speed it probably helps that there is probably quite literally full days worth of new vtuber content being generated every minute. You don't just have one episode a week to discuss there is a new episode happening all the time.

Streaming and youtube videos have gotten huge everywhere, and it's effects are most heavily felt by /v/. Yet /v/ also despises e-whores and e-celebs, and they're moderated to a relative extent. So the outlet is /vt/ which takes the hatred for e-whores and converts it into energy put behind more genuine "anime" girls.

Basically what I'm trying to say is on 4chan there's a lot of different currents fueling the popularity of this bastard board. Add major events happening literally all the time and there will be threads pushed about as fast as some election threads or video game announcements.
