But big corpos make their talents take singing lessons, so at the very least they can sing better than the average person.
In Japan karaoke is also big, so they might have some experience even before lessons.

For Hololive it makes sense because Yagoo always tried to get the idol angle in there, but for random small corpos and indies who don't at all aspire for that kind of thing to also be doing covers of Japanese songs etc is kinda cringe. Like they're looking for legitimacy/"notice me senpai" kind of appeal and/or are trying to polish up their own resumes for when they apply to Holo. There is no reason someone with like 100 viewers who doesn't give much a fuck about Japanese culture -and neither do her viewers- needs to play along and pretend she's a big idol star because "it's just what you do" or whatever. But many still do anyway and it's a big fucking waste of time and effort.

They lean heavily on fanbase affection for their success. If you ever fall out of love with a singsy chuuba, try giving her singing another listen and wonder why the fuck you ever thought she was a good singer.
