This is purely a numbers game metric and their level of success in everything they try can’t be compared. Technically there are 4-5 other vtubers based on who was chosen that can take IM spot such as Kobo, Salome, Koyori, unironically Rin from idol and Gura despite the lack of streams because again the person of the year is purely a numbers game and Gura’s numbers remain as the best in the west but you need the pity vote of IM or ecelebs will complain. Winner should be Pekora.
Honestly she should’ve copied what games do and had a fan choice category where anyone nominated for anything can be voted for the fan choice vtuber of the year. Usually it matches with the regular goty but there are upsets
