The "kayfabe" of the character is cute, the design aspect is nice, and the fact they want to hide their identities is fun.
I do feel pathetic looking for vocal company and getting wrapped up in their doings. We need friends, not vtubers.

I just genuinely enjoy the absurd exaggeration most VTubers disguise themselves as. They're able to express themselves more without fear of judgement and are able to keep it consistent enough to be comforting.

Vtubing is basically a way for women to rely entirely on their personality instead of their looks. They can just get a cute anime model that perfectly matches their voice, and stream in their underwear if they want to without worrying about make-up, their hair, their clothes, etc. A properly rigged vtuber model can also express just as much if not more emotions than a normal human face, and a good design can easily help you stand out from the crowd. For women who are heavily judged for their looks, and are self conscious about their appearance there's a lot of benefits.
