Vertical streams are treated like shorts and use short algorithm. As a result, your streams are pushed to both your usual audience and the shorts audience - basically widen your reach.
So far short streams seem to be pretty effective to farm subs and views. If you are doing something that doesn't require viewers to care about what's going on in the background (i.e: zatsu, karaoke), why not?
