Now that's what a great fucking Apex collab looks like. I would gladly watch more of this lineup. I have to say under the right circumstances Matsuri's Apex streams can be very entertaining, and she gave us 2 extremely high quality Apex streams in a row. One cute seiso stream and one funny-ass chaos collab. Also the length is perfect imo, 1-2 hours of nonstop gaming is pretty much perfect. Doesn't get boring for a second.

Reminder that she was supposed to do MC yesterday afternoon, then yesterday at night if she wasn't tired
then she found out that she had work today so it got shifted to tonight but then it got compromised due to having a long day at work

This is exactly why i've stopped watching her impromptu apex streams when they happen on days when she has a planned stream, you just KNOW she will 100% shift the planned stream back an unknown amount of days in the future and I am absolutely not supporting this kind of conduct from her ever again.
This is the first time in a long while though so I don't actually mind that much, I just wanted to make a post about it since this is what we endured for 2 months in a row for a while back.

In a way it's good she did it again after a while because it highlights just how well she's managed to deliver her streams lately, so points for that. I just don't like her radio silence attitude about this stuff.
Just be honest and say "yo im gonna play apex today with friends so no MC" instead of first playing a trillion hours of apex and THEN making vague tweet saying "umm guys after tomorrow i dont have to go outside :3 so i think i have time to stream :3" like bitch don't give me that shit you know exactly why you "didn't have time to stream" and it has nothing to do with having to go outside or doing work. Leave your ぶりっ子 act out of your stream planning.

Oh yeah, it's been a while. Doesn't really matter too much though, as she tends to do a pretty good job of keeping her word. The past couple of months have been exceptions for sure but for the most part she's doing just fine.

While the hours give an interesting perspective and clearly show where she puts her hours, I think it's pretty important to distinguish that 1 hour of singing for probably 95% of her viewers is INFINITELY more entertaining than 5 hours of tournament apex. One hour-long mengen zatsudan or 30 minute bath TC will leave any matsurisu feeling much more content than a snoozefest guest appearance in Apex customs at the dead of night. Obviously there are exceptions, there has to be some matsurisu that genuinely think Apex is her best content, but they are a clear minority. Like literally a fraction of her fanbase. So I don't think comparing the hours really tell a lot when you take these things into account. I don't want her to do Watauta type endurances, I'm perfectly happy with 1 hour of singing + sc reading.

All in all in Matsuri's case, I'd say it's sufficient enough just looking at the number of frames, not total hours. And recently it's been fine, I have no other complaints than getting cucked from 1 MC and her strange behaviour in Twitter when it comes to announcing her plans for streams.

It really rubs me the wrong way, making posts like 明日仕事だった、帰ってきたらウパね,ごめんね, there is nothing ambiguous about that, it's clear as day what she means and she's even apologizing for the first delay but now it's been 2 days of radio silence, she hasn't even mentioned it. Eventually after 1-100 days when she actually streams it though, she'll just do it carefree and pretending like there was never any problem in the first place. That's what gets me. She's lost some modesty and genuineness she used to have where she would address her occasional slip-ups for even one short statement and then continue on from a clean slate, instead of pretending like nothing negative ever happened. You're right, but imagine a future where nothing she says holds any weight. That isn't the case, of course, but as long as there is a rising trend (which there was for almost 2 months straight until it reset for a while) and as long as the same pool of a thousand vocal all-positive bots approve of it, it enables her to keep doing it even more and more to the point where you will never know what she's going to do until she's already doing it. Of course it won't literally happen to that extent, that's ridiculous, but it's happened to a significant degree before and it's not a good look.

We've already seen it happening during the 4-tournament arc, there hasn't been that much negativity floating around her on several platforms in a long time, including her Youtube viewership and anti-sc's, Twitter, even this thread. If she wants to keep hitting her KPIs, then unfortunately she has keep her audience in mind as well. Spending money isn't a prerequisite for criticizing a talent for whatever it is they want to criticize, doing it through superchats is simply one platform out of many, the point is that every holo gets criticized in some way or another, and I can assure you they will take at least some of what they hear into account, consciously or not. However if you look at these threads for example, the common complaints have little to do with Apex itself or "doing your own thing" but rather her extremely weak grip on scheduling and constantly lying or misguiding her own fanbase whether it was an "accident" or on purpose. People are free to complain. No issues there as long as it's constructive. Particularly with Matsuri because she's so diligent about ego searching. It should however be of absolutely no surprise if they're punted off of a stream after throwing an SC or grandstanding in chat. It's not the right place for voicing criticism even though it may be the most direct. It's normal to see people bummed out by it on the day, but carrying it beyond that is exceptional. We clearly see these things at different levels of severity.

Maybe on this thread, but I have seen similar complaints through sc's, regular comments, sometimes twitter, 5ch... They are fairly rare for sure, but I am not the only one who's concerned with the scheduling issues
As I said in my previous post though, it hasn't been an issue for the past 3 weeks. Only now a couple of days before the cup I saw cracks starting to show is all.

And if you too find the scheduling annoying, then it is a problem even for you. Maybe you don't feel like voicing it out as much as I do, but as I said, it's not the same as her doing her own thing, it's just handling scheduling poorly. Don't know how you don't feel misguided though, because that's the best word I can describe the whole thing with. Basically she informs you about her plans and you're lead to believe X will happen when in reality Y happens, that Y often being Apex which is probably why the complaints about Apex itself are so common but people don't realize that the game itself isn't the problem, it's the misleading scheduling often leading to Apex that is. Remember how few complaints these threads had when she impromptu postponed a stream for Apex like once a month at best? It was infrequent, so nobody cared. Then it became worryingly frequent and that's when the thread turned from all loveposts into a 50-50 split of loveposting and ranting. The past 3 weeks there were little complaints, because she did great. I didn't have to rant either because I felt that she was doing good.

You're right, but the problem is that it usually isn't just a one day thing.

Think of it from this perspective: You're a viewer who is excited about hearing her play Minecraft. She's made a pretty clear tweet stating that she will play Minecraft.
Oh, turns out she went to play Apex instead with her friends. That's fine, it's just one postpone.
The next day however you find out that she's playing in a tournament. Now you come to the realization that she'll stream only Apex for the next four days. So the bummer isn't just a one day thing, it's five. Doesn't it seem strange that she would sacrifice the one stream she planned to do for Apex, if she was going to spend the next 4 days in Apex as well? Was 4 days in a row not enough, did she really feel like it just had to be 5? It's a game she spends the majority of her free time doing already, and the one-to-two hour slot she reserved for her job, her stream that she already decided what she'll do, she sacrificed it to fit one more Apex stream despite the fact that the next day she'll get to do nothing but play Apex and stream it for almost a week straight. It's such a strange decision to make.
Thinking about it from this perspective also makes her comment about "sorry for the amount of Apex recently" feel even dumber. Sorry for her conscious decision replace a non-apex content with apex right next to a 4-day tournament? That makes zero sense. She's not sorry at all lol. She shouldn't be either, I'm not saying that, but what I am saying is those are empty words to make the gullible viewers in chat feel better about her shit scheduling skills.

Matsuri's solo Apex is actually really good because she's actually entertaining and keeps talking and being cute unlike with tournaments where there's sometimes minutes of silence just waiting in lobby.
Some collabs are also great even with non-holos, like Wat for example. They have insanely good chemistry and their collabs are always hilarious. The recent one with SqLa and kanon was really good as well. Yes the interesting thing, if you believe the numberfags, is that her quarterly viewership is actually up. It's hard to say why w/o really taking a look at what was streamed and when. I think a contributor is that she hit some major milestones recently and she has streamed more popular games (minecraft, mainly) at optimal times. Those alone would skew the result.

I don't mind calling it misguided, I just personally don't feel strongly about it. Yeah, fundamentally it is misguidance but like I said before I don't really put any weight on what she dumps onto twitter when it comes to scheduling. I would feel misguided if I were at a loss in some way but I'm not. Her explicitly scheduling a stream only to then defer it is annoying but the she'll be doing it at some point nonetheless.

Not for me which is why I'm not compelled to call it out. I've been holding out for certain streams too. It's understood at this point that if she's participating in a tournament with scrims that she's going to prioritize that over whatever solo streams she's had planned. If she tweeted that she wants to play Minecraft and we know that she has external obligations to her team the expectation is that it's likely she won't get to playing Minecraft.

You can be sorry for something while simultaneously being strong-minded about doing what you want to do. She definitely knows that she's alienating a sizeable portion of her audience by putting so much focus on apex. Aside from matches intersecting with her birthday I assume that she will be really amping up her preparation around that time. Juggling that as well as CR cup is probably too much even for her. The privated one was the one with those who I have no idea who they are. The cosplayer organized tournament.

I haven't actually done proper numberfagging, it's all based off of my memory since I catch nearly every one of her streams (except recent Apexes) but it seems that the occasional /hlg/ numberfag seem to agree

I actually think she kind of fucked up her stride with the recent milestones because she immediately joined a tournament after hitting 1 million and did a shitload of delays and cancels to really ward off potential new fans. I'm not making any concrete claims, but I think it's a solid theory. Her views have still went up aside from Apex streams, so it's a moderate success. If only she just got a proper grip on her scheduling and she could pop off like crazy after her birthday

And that's a strict negative, you don't want to come to this point with your oshi, ever. This point only comes when the flops are so frequent you have lost former trust. Especially when they have done a solid job in the past. We'll see what happens after her birthday though.

That's why I'm questioning her decision to replace a stream after 2 "mini-delays" and one postpone with Apex when she knows herself that she will get to enjoy her favorite pastime for 3 days in a row. I mean, if she really really really just didn't want to do play Minecraft, I guess that's fine but... It just really gives off a bad impression of her motivation and interests in her job. She knows she gets to have an extremely chill week with her streaming part of things because she can just play her favorite game and not even acknowledge that people are watching, just enjoying her favorite game. 4 days of just Apex and then guest commentating. Is she really THAT uninterested in doing anything else that she HAS to sacrifice a non-apex stream one day before the tournament with an Apex, just to get one day more? After seeing the same pattern so many times, it just seems so worrying because I don't know anymore if she actually enjoys what she does or has to half-force streams. Why would she have to constantly delay various activities for several days in a row before actually deliviring if she was passionate or interested in it? It feels so sour having a stream you've been waiting for after 2-4 delays in a row and Matsuri being all like "という事で... let's just get this shit done that i was gonna do a week ago" Call me a schizo if you want, but after seeing the same thing happen so many times, sometimes it really feels like she isn't interested at all depending on the stream. I want her to chase her dreams and do what she's passionate about but if she has lost all her interests and motivations aside from Apex then it'd be saddening to know how one-note she's become.

But if her being strong-minded means that she joins as many tournaments as she wants and plays as much Apex as she wants (so a full week to two out of every month), which has been the trend for many months, then she is actively alienating the majority of her audience often and basically tells them to fuck off if they don't like it, she absolutely is not sorry. I don't get how you could come to the conclusion that she feels bad for playing too much Apex when she has no intention of stopping or changing the amount she puts into the game or taking into consideration what the majority of her audience thinks. Well, she takes the feedback into consideration but comes to the conclusion that "fuck those guys I'll do what I want" and plays more. But as I said, she shouldn't be sorry either because this would be a part of her "doing my own thing" mentality which you too said you admire about her. And I agree that it's a good mentality to have, because normally she has several things she's passionate about so one week out of a month for a tournament isn't too bad, because after the tournament she'd have plenty of other interesting projects and contents for a wider audience. Though as I said in my earlier paragraph, her motivations have been brought into question with recent times and if we hit a point where only energy for Apex is left then unfortunately for her there won't be more than a couple hundred desperate gachikois left as well

She keeps addressing the Apex thing every now and then but I don't think she ever gets the point, it's not as black and white as "just watch what you like" if it goes to the point where it's the majority of her content, there's not a lot to choose from at that point.
Thankfully we're not at that point yet, the ~1 tournament per month thing is fine imo. But it's the thought of a one-note Matsuri with barely any interests or motivations that has people worried
