I think we can all admit at this point that in hindsight, Myth wasn't all that good. The EN vtubers at the top of the chain that we have now are far more entertaining.
The most exciting thing about Myth back then was the community and the hype.

Myth's one weakness has always been their inter-group chatting. It's always dry as hell, or forced as hell. Council, then Promise definitely knew how to hold a conversation, and Advent does it flawlessly

NTA, but it only really achieved full power for a small window during Council's debut. Before that, early Myth had Kiara being an overly obsessed TakaMori shipper, and inversely Mori acting like she gave no fucks about Myth. Mid range was decent, but this was the Ame's "tommy hurt" saga on top of the infamous "not Gura's +1" speech, and late stage Myth is 2/5 in attendance, with 2/5 sparsely attending, and 1/5 showing up for shilling

The chance of Myth appearing in a 2023 Christmas collab was always low but after Ame made that hiatus announcement it clearly won't happen. If we are lucky there might be a pre-recorded message but even that depends on management.

Look, I think Myth is overrated too, but considering how many EN vtubers have Myth members as oshis, they clearly influenced the vtubers who came after them, including Advent.
In retrospect, Myth was the weakest gen, and that’s a good thing. They were the first, so of course there’s going to be a learning curve.

For me and others early Myth held a certain magic to it. Ame especially Gura wasn't still sure how much of their backstage selves was appropriate to show. They were taking awkward steps but somehow it felt endearing. The community's tastes definitely changed. I doubt they could pull that off now and expect success. But I will always look back fondly.

In the end, I think that magic came from it being the start of HoloEN and also the coof. Plenty of people who enjoyed Myth then started going out and having normal lives. People who still watch vtubers now have to be specially motivated to do so, so it’s a smaller audience and one that’s more…passionate.
The bubble has already burst, and we’re not going to see a sudden explosive hit like Myth again. That said, for the “post-bubble” era, what we have currently is still really good.
