HF is the golden ratio of both obscene word count and relatively high quality. I do find that Castle Mirrikhdal is closest to fitting that though. Feels way too sidequesty at times and kind of is a drag as a result, but it does have enough character moments to be worth it and ends up being important enough that you can't really skip it.

I'm structuring this one more in an episodic fashion for the first 25% of the story so I can really give some context for each character. I've split it so that Towa is going to be mentoring Botan and Fubuki while a new character is going to be mentoring Watame and Mio. If I were to keep them all in Towa's group, it'd end up being too crowded.

Plus I just find it helps my creativity if I can go between two different plots. Sometimes I just can't get one moving so it's helpful to have two just in case.

It has one spoiler (so far) to an event in the first book but that event is pretty obvious in the setup that it'll occur.
