What actually happened is that 50% of the fanbase is SEA. Oceane had an army of them and they went after any girl perceived to threaten Oceane so she was kicked out after she pissed off nene. Gen 3 was like what the fuck since they bore the brunt of the harassment for months. Then when PK was bought by a large japanese company known for casting couches, the contracts were changed. Gen 3 did not like the new contract so they left.
The SEA fanbase then spent a lot of time trying to doxx the girls (Isla in particular). Isla then covered wan piss's Gyakko, which is a song about hitting back at your haters (her antis, who used to be her members).

All in all the company has little future with the crazy retards like that 12yo flip who 'fell in love' with Nene.

It has shit numbers, but it's stable. If vtubing is just a fun side gig or hobby for you, then it's probably a perfectly agreeable place to be, no need to graduate.
Kawaii is like this on a larger scale, a lot of its talents have other jobs but it actually has good numbers (without botting/astroturfing like idol) and notable events like the concert.
