Personally I kind of agree.
One solution could be just for me to scrap the entire scheduled transaction system I have now and replace it with a round-robin, cycle based system like the old queue, but instead of your transaction going away after one cycle, it keeps going for N coins and just decrease timers on that. Hard limits based on volume is the other solution we've been looking at but as I stated above, your transacted amount may change due to the limit changing.
He bought? Dump eet.
Personally, I agree, it's a powerful tool and honestly it might just be too much power.
The potential for abuse is what I fear. I can set all the limitations I want but if a determined shitposter sets their sights on something, they'll do it anyways. The problem of all the countermeasures I'm thinking of is they only stop a sane player from abusing the system which is only half the problem.
Could you define that? Do you mean just make the cooldown that much longer or do you mean delay that transaction?
Agreed, that's why I'm bringing it up. I don't want to implement a system that just fucks over people.
See above responses as to potential pitfalls with hard capping. Note I'm just pointing them out, it's still a completely valid system.
Yeah, issue with that second suggestion is as you pointed it out, the lower impacts allow for much higher profit margins, both on buys and sells.
I can speed up the cycle, I stated this last thread, the only concern I have is the additional time that the serverchama will be bogged for during adjustments.
Yeah, this was a concern of mine as well. Volatility is strongly tied with circulation so it's problematic if it dives down too low.
Thanks for the report, I've handed it off to my colleague. The thread is probably the best place to put reports since I'll always read through it.
I really don't want to fuck things over too badly.
Yes, I agree that people want to trade faster, my only concern is the bogging of the server and the increased ability for autists to do HFT.
No problem. Zhonk got on it as soon as possible.
It's not the Jedi way...
You can't handle my worst.
<< Have you found your reason to buy yet, /nasfaqg/? >>
Yeah, personally fixed, but low amounts would be not only the easiest to implement but the one that'd probably get the least complaints about the system stealing coins. My concern with it is just that fast movement and limited window of opportunity. Honestly, maybe it just makes sense to bump it up to 2, see how it goes. If shit goes wrong we decrease it and if everything is still fine we can keep it and discuss bumping it up again, look back at it after a while and see if there needs to be another change.
<< There’s only one way, /nasfaqg/. You’ve gotta buy what you believe in. >>
My fear as well.
