It’s almost entirely the menheras and the reason is to “get away” from their audience but not the ones that follow them. It’s split into 3 groups + Noel ones that want to go nuts without being judged usually to be a whore, a side hustle while complaining about management, and to prove they can totally succeed on their own by using the connections they gained from hololive. The real answer is... it sort of is. Generally, they've refrained from using L2D models in the past. People say "what about Kson?", but I'm fairly sure she used a png back then, during 2020 and 2021. But even if she did use an L2D back then a couple of times, it's still extremely rare for them to do so.

That's not how IP rights work, anon. You and many others repeat that Suisei owns the rights to the original version of her character, but that is extremely unlikely.

Capcom doesn't own the rights to Link just because they once made a version of him with a bird on his head for The Minish Cap.
They don't even own the rights to that version of Link either.
Under your interpretation of copyright, Capcom could just make another Zelda game starring Minish Cap Link as long as they called it something else and didn't use any other Nintendo property in it.

Suisei almost assuredly sold the rights to her character to Cover when she joined Hololive. That means she wouldn't be able to use Hoshimachi Suisei anymore if she left unless Cover decided to give her the rights to the character back.

Hololive owns the IP of their Vtubers, the streamer owns nothing and for some of them just having money in the right now isn't enough. I doubt if they part ways with Hololive they will still get a paycheck from the clicks and sold songs they did back then.
Some just want to chill and not a horde of children in their chat others want fame or own thing without being depended on Cover. There is a recent clip from Irys that said they aren't even allowed to change their hair color.
