I always thought it was dubious that Mori the alleged super creative artist type saw absolutely fucking 0 value of anything in MC for most of history. You'd think the artists would want to make interesting designs/sculptures etc, maybe, but nah she didn't want to do anything other than play the game with the aptitude of a 4 year old. So I guess it's not surprising that she eventually realized there is more to the game than walking around but god damn she was dense and it took a while.

she always liked the building parts and liked the exploration/adventuring to some degree, but the resource loops and having to get materials for every bigger projects filtered her out
now they have Kaela, which provides nearly endless rare materials at drop of a hat and makes sure even a total zenloss is recoverable within minutes

so the game is basically just the parts she liked
