I don’t like the shark but honestly I agree. Irys sings everything like she’s in a church choir, and it sounds really stilted and awkward when she’s singing live. Suisei has a pretty powerful voice but doesn’t stand out that much to me otherwise, and she can get pretty pitchy.
Gura is the best holo from what I’ve seen at being both technically proficient and having her own vocal style that she can adjust to whatever genre she chooses

I've been thouroughly disappointed by Nerissa's attempts at "live" karaoke, at least so far. She sounds good, sometimes even top-tier, in a controlled setting like on her produced tracks where she can hide behind dozens of re-takes, mixing and vocal tuning. But she gets exposed hard when trying to perform in a less controlled live setting like her karaoke streams: terrible balance, vocal control all over the place, sometimes even off-key, plus scuff like audio delay etc.

So that'd put her down a few spots in the rankings, because for me part of being rated as a "good singer" overall also incorporates how good you are at delivering naturally on the spot, outside the manufactured recording booth safe space. Also, looking over her vods, it seems she also recognized this as a weakness of hers, and has refrained so far from doing much more karaoke streams, which is pretty lmao for the supposed "singer of the gen". I hope this means she's actually just practicing behind the scenes in the meantime to come back stronger in the future, and not just that she has given up and hides, because again, the fundamentals are there and it'd be a shame if she got discouraged from her underwhelming first attempts.

An argument could be made for IRyS having better pitch control, but Nerissa having "terrible balance" and "vocal control all over the place?" Yeah, get out of here with that. Perfect? No. But she is still an amazing singer with a wide range of skill.

Nerissa is the only legitimate singer in Hololive who doesn't sound the same on every song she sings, so I'd vote her. Irys has the chops but lacks the “it” factor, and that makes all the difference. even marine has an excellent combination of the two, tho it’s the “it” factor that makes her extremely entertaining to listen to, even when she can’t quite hit the note.

Honestly live singing wise no one matches Gura's Karaoke streams. No one else reaches millions of views from clippings of their karaoke streams. Partly it's their singing setups. Everyone uses a distinctly Karaoke sound that is unbearable to listen to. Suisei, Irys, and Moona have great voices that sound like shit during Karaoke streams. The only person one that comes close/arguably mogs Gura's live karaoke streams is Enna's.
