Perhaps lie is a bit too harsh of a word. What I think it comes down to is that she intends to do the things she says she's going to/wants to do, but then ultimately, when it comes time to do them, she just doesn't feel like doing it and so she doesn't.
This could be for a whole host of reasons, anything from she's just too tired to she wants to play online games with her friends instead.
Regardless, it sucks that it keeps happening. I want her to enjoy spending time with us as much as whatever she does instead, even though I doubt she ever will.
