So I scrolled through some NijiEN streams, and one thing I noticed about the majority of them is that they have no "self introductions".
Holos both in EN and JP have some catchy little "thing" they do as their introduction.
e.g. Konpeko Konpeko~, I'm not a Chihuahua I'm Fuwawa!, Mogu Mogu~ Okayu~, Kon Kon Ki~tsune, Oh hi :D, Wah, Konfauna~, Kira Kira Koseki etc. etc.
From the few NijiEN streams I checked, only the new girl seems to have a proper introduction that she uses during ALL of her streams ("Domo, Vivi desu"). Even older or popular livers like Pomu, Elira and Vox don't have a proper greeting, and even if they do, they don't use it in every stream.
(I think Pomu used to have "I'm Pomu" as her thing, but it seems to have died off in the niji community, possibly due to her not using it or emphasising it as much these days)
Most livers just do a generic "hey guys", "hello everybody" etc. at the start of their streams.

I get the feeling that these greetings - that usually use their full name - is one of the reasons that Holos can be remembered so easily by Hololive fans despite their numbers encroaching Niji territory when all the branches are included. Like a mnemonic that just worms it's way into your brain after you listen to it once or twice.
Each greeting is also unique to that particular holo so also an expression of themselves that they can do within 10-15 seconds every stream and build up their own identity.
It helps more casual fans remember holos they don't frequently watch just from watching one collab with them.
They can even use these intros as material for jokes to break the ice during collabs e.g. other holos copying Pekora's greeting, all the different reactions to Laplus' greeting (which requires either chat or collab partners to do a call and response) etc. You could say these greetings are "iconic" to their respective holos.

Obviously Nijisanji as a whole has far bigger problems than most members not having a proper greeting, but I have to wonder how much not having a proper greeting affects the foundation of their "box".
During most collab streams, they don't even introduce the collab partners to the audience, they just start the game once the audio is fine assuming that everyone watching knows what they're in for.

Niji JP has the same problem, but at least some of the livers have greetings of their own and do self introductions during solo streams and collabs. Examples -

If you don't have an introduction or skip it most of the time - especially in collabs, which are usually the best places for tourists to get interested in individuals or the collab group as a whole - you are basically assuming that no new viewer will be watching that stream.. and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy as newer people just click off after watching for 2 minutes because they have no real way to connect or otherwise engage with the chemistry of the individuals on stream because they don't really KNOW anyone.

Have you guys observed this effect if you've ever attempted to watch Niji streams? Would this be a big filter to potential new fans of Nijisanji? What do you guys think?
