But that's why they are a business after all. They want as much profit as possible and old streamers won't generate as much money,with gen 2 they have two money machines. They don't have to care about the old streamers as long as they introduce new ones regularly.

In Coco's interview with Yagoo near her graduation, yagoo did say hololive doesn't want to release members when they feel like they "can't" support them, but that means the decision comes down to subjective opinions. Seeing the indifference towards mistreated talents in the past, I think Cover just looks at Gura's 3M subs and think "wow there's a lot of untapped market here" and goes on with releasing new gens yearly regardless, in hopes of getting more money. At some point they will probably cross the line of diminishing returns where the addition of new talents doesn't benefit themselves much. But we'll see. Maybe they already crossed that line.

Niji has to compete with quantity so they get a pass for trying to pull it. Hololive, on the other hand, should start contemplating when to release new generations at this point. But if they only care about money and not the fact that the old streamers are losing relevance when they keep adding new members, I guess they'll keep going the Nijiway.
