For most Holo girls, they'd lose fans, paying members, money etc if they started collabing with men, so it only makes sense that they don't.

You can be the best player in the world and still get fucked to the bottom place if everyone decided to dump their skills while you're in the lead. Puyo Puyo is different. It's a 1 VS 1 skill based zero sum game. Even if you have more people participating, they still each needs to fight in a 1 VS 1 format.
Same with Overwatch, or Valorant, or any other competitive games that will pit an individual or a team in a 1 VS 1 format. Heck, there are even people complained that the Pokemon Unite wasn't that fun to watch because it was almost obvious the JP members were going to sweep that one.

Like the ones in TI? Where everyone involved are prety much at a similar skill level? The combined skill level of Sakamata, Lui, and IRyS alone would only be comparable to Aruran at max, goofing around or not. Towa and Botan can't even be compared to Astel and Izuru. And you still have Miyabi and Uyu to worry about.
You might be happy if it ended up being a close match, but like I said, part of the people who cares about the competition (let's be real, it's still a competitive game, and it will attract audiences with competitive mindsets) will question the Stars performances.

Marine and Suisei played each other right after the tournament was announced and Marine had a slight edge in Puyo vs Tetris and Puyo vs Puyo.

If Marine didn't practice at all, she would have won 99.9% of the time.

That being said, if Marine wasn't in the competition, people would complain about Puyo. Kanata likely sticks with Tetris due to not getting traumatized by Marine, which lets Fubuki sweep the competition easily despite picking up Puyo for the tournament.
