It is true that the base game has long been abandoned by its developers at 1.4. I've played it through in Vanilla, of course. But there's a massive overhaul mod called Frackin' Universe. It turned the game into, at very least, 2.0, Probably better. It is actively developed (new version dropped just yesterday).
So check out https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1101449362 for server info and the required mod list. I think you'll find the game to be vastly improved, with things like wiring, automation, and bees. Also more races, more world types, new biomes... its great. Seriously, it is. I did, though, kinda forget that that early grind can be a bit slow.
I'm playing the GOG Linux version, so I have to download my mods through... alternate means. Worth it. Come play!

I feel a lot of you anons don't understand what's going on and are romanticising whats happening. Its not romantic. Its just really sad for both of them. Ive been on Rura's end before. Rura is his "favourite person" which means he totally relies on her emotionally and doesnt care about recieving attention from anybody else. It's extremely draining being a favourite person because whilst you will be showered with praise, gifts, attention and you can guarantee that person will always be available to you whenever you want, you will also recieve all the negatives:
Constant need for attention, validation and security.
Needing to reassure them constantly that you're not going to abandon them
Any slights, real or perceived, will be taken very badly where the person can lash out or withdraw from you even if they still like you.
They will feel hurt if the favourite person isn't as enthusiastic as they are.
Extreme jealousy and possessiveness is common.
BPD folk are prone to shit testing their favourite person to prove their feelings. Like telling them that it's okay to ignore them but in reality, they're absolutely not okay with being ignored, they just want to see if you want to take the opportunity to ignore them and they will be really hurt if you do.

It's a fucking exhausting thing to be and it's hard to manage because you feel bad telling off such a person because they are so kind to you and they do really need you. He obviously has a lot of pain, insecurity and lonliness and he thinks Rura is going to fix that
