According to A-chan, DEV_IS is not pronounced "device", it's "deviiiiice". If you make a diagram of Cover's subsidiaries, it shows that DEV_IS is a sister group to hololive JP and the overseas branches of hololive, but despite being a sister group, the diagram is not like a family tree. DEV_IS is not Gen7 because the strategy of DEV_IS is different compared to the other groups, because DEV_IS has a slightly different direction and policy. Basically, compared to the other groups, DEV_IS is a group themed around challenging new things as a unit and growing together with each other as a group. I hope this helps, anon.

ReGLOSS’s “Challenge”

Hello, everyone! This is the hololive DEV_IS Production Team.

First, we would like to announce that the hit song “Shunkan Heartbeat“ has reached 2.5 million views!
Thank you to all of our fans who took the time to listen!

A month has already passed since ReGLOSS’s debut on September 10th. The days leading up to the debut have been quite eventful: preparation for each individual talent’s debut, production of “Shunkan Heartbeat”, planning and reviewing content for ReGLOSS’s official channel, etc.
Through trial and error, we have been hard at work forging a future through which ReGLOSS can continue to shine brightly in the eyes of our fans.
We will continue working with our talents to deliver memorable content in the days to come.

In this issue, we would like to further elaborate on the “challenges” ReGLOSS will need to face, as well as details regarding their upcoming projects.

In our previous article, we mentioned that hololive DEV_IS is a group that, in addition to standard VTuber activities, will endeavor to take on new “challenges” as a fortified unit with the ultimate goal of “growing” together alongside our fans.

The areas in which ReGLOSS will “challenge” themselves and demonstrate “growth” will primarily focus on overcoming and improving.

We are currently considering showcasing 3D models for ReGLOSS that will tie in with their upcoming activities and projects. Each member, while adhering to their skill honing, will also be taking part in improvement lessons to help prepare for their 3D unveiling.

Further details on the prepared content unfortunately cannot be shared at this time, but rest assured that these hard-working talents will strive to “grow” and take on “challenges” on the path to their first 3D performance.
Our staff will be there to support them along the way, and we hope that you will do the same.

Finally, we would like to offer our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming support towards ReGLOSS, from their initial debut and beyond. We will do our utmost to help ensure that they deliver more enjoyable content in the days to come.

My problem with the fucking gen is how bland and boring the designs are.
For years we have mocked and belittled Nijisanji for their boring character concepts and now Hololive pulls it off out of left field.
All of them are humans, none have a clear profession or job or archetype as a theme.
It's literally "well she's a girl, and the other one is a girl too, they are all just normal human girls with regular casual cloth and they don't do anything, they just stream".
What's the difference between this and a normal streamer ? It's a fucking streamer with a filter, they are not interesting characters.

Every single caveat you can come up with has a reasonable excuse.
All normal humans in Hololive have a clear profession or archetype (knight, pirate, maid,tomboy, chinese) and some strong design theme elements (hearts and ribbons, flashy blue idol).
The only exception is Matsuri who came out in fucking gen 1 and was surrounded by a vampire and a fox.
She was basically the average girl in a fantastic group.
When every single member of the entire gen is "average joe" then the average joe is no longer special, it's literally just fucking average.
Cover should have just at least thrown some random animal ears on a couple of them at the last minute. It would be better than what we got.
