Joysound hosted a voting contest with the question "Who's your VTuber oshi?", and the results are such :
1. Suisei (Hololive)
2. Marine (Hololive)
3. Kuzuha (Nijisanji)
4. Hayato (Nijisanji)
5. Toya (Nijisanji)
6. Fubuki (Hololive)
7. Salome (Nijisanji)
8. Kaida (Nijisanji)
9. Minato (Nijisanji)
10. Kanae (Nijisanji)

Any thoughts about it? Hololive dominates the podium for evident reasons, but Nijisanj seems to have "livers" who are quite popular too, and most of them are males by the same occasion.

The popularity of nijiJP males is the source of why Luxiem took off essentially, but nowadays that the EN dudes have fallen off hard it now looks like some weird mystical fluke that the JP males are still so strong and dominant. They've always let that market however, it's more like nijiEN males had the absolute fucking hugest strongest gust of wind on its back when it started but that gave way.

Mysta was the only one really voicing his displeasure with the kind of fans they were getting, Vox had no problem accepting the chinabux and pandering to the sisters and doing stuff like BFE ASMR, it wasn't until the sisters started leaving in droves because of his constant yabbing and new roys debuting that NijiEN's derranged fanbase and the whole vtubing culture became "problematic"

We do know that the top of Nijisanji has always been competitive with Hololive, maybe even outdoing in some certain aspects. ROF-MAO album numbers come to mind.

That being said, recently they do lack something extraordinary that can rival Suisei and Marine's reach to the normie audience.
