This is correct but it's also worth noting that PEMDAS is just kind of an arbitrary way to read ambiguous notation and not anything inherent to math itself. Like you should know it so that you're working through things the same way as everyone else but it's also kind of irrelevant to any math beyond middle school level. A working engineer, scientist w/e wouldn't be writing things with notation can even be possibly misread if the other person gets the order of operations wrong. Mathematicians usually aren't dealing with trivial arithmetic problems to begin with

I majored in Biochemistry. Got an A- in Quantum Chemistry. Minored in mathematics. I graduated from medical school a few months ago. If you ask me to remember all that math from years ago, I wouldn't be able to do it. If there is any kind of math to be done, I do it all by calculator or excel tables. I wouldn't be surprised if any of them, who never need to touch math, struggle with this. Watching some streams of that game I saw that japs mostly have multiplication table memorized at least, but in all honesty it's literally grade school level. They start struggling at 20*50 already thinking it's 100, you aren't THAT bad anon, are you?
