I mean that stars are unpopular in the first place because they're a part of a company that established themselves with female talents first, so that's what people expect. So for them to get more cute boy enjoyers or male idol enjoyers, they'll have to separate themselves from Hololive somehow, and I don't think saying "Cover" is going to work. Didn't all of HQ get a panel at Otakon or some other convention on the east coast? The demand exists, but your line of thinking is why people believe there is no demand. I get where you're coming from and I obviously won't trivialize your pain, but from what I understood Vox wasn't talking about every single Kindred making him uncomfortable, certainly not the normal ones. And people change, maybe he did enjoy the ASMRs at first but slowly stopped. But yeah, I do get how enjoying something that made your oshi uncomfortable is a terrible proposition. I remember when he said something along the lines of Americans not being his main audience or a good source of income and that got people pretty mad (understandably so) and then later on he cleared it up (even though his wording was still really bad). I haven't been fighting with other people in other threads. I mostly stay here unless there's a big collab or I feel like visiting main to see how other anons are doing. I only saved those posts because they're just worded better than something I can come up with. I'm not the only Kindred, or NijiEN fan for that matter, that notices what Vox said is pretty messed up. Other people watched it and came to the same conclusion and just because it's being discussed, doesn't mean anyone is fighting about it. From the few indies I watch, it doesn't happen much, but you'll certainly hear about it sometimes in streams. I think it's because the smaller you are, the more pressured you may feel to take a stance on things or do it for clout reasons. And we know how vtweeters are with pushing that kind of stuff instead of streaming. I took it as meaning a lot of male vtubers are overly horny, sexual, or fujobait and call themselves gay/bi at nearly every chance. And yeah I see a LOT of indies that are activists in some way and guilt trip people into RTing political shit, so I see how it's an instinct for more people to avoid someone who starts talking about any type of politics, whether it be identity, societal, or governmental.
