Vshojo's done a good job of curating a group of vtubers who actually feel like their friends with each other recently, so I think it works pretty well. It's cute that henya decided to spontaneously create an open vc because she's so scared of the game, and other members actually showed up to comfort her. I don't think it's something she would do for most games though.

I would define unannounced as the stream having been planned + announced beforehand, and things changing during that stream. The current Henya stream started solo and used >>61408669 as the thumbnail, but she was too scared so she opened a voice call and invited other people to join. Still technically unannounced because unless you were in the stream when that happened you wouldn't know it wasn't a solo experience.

Either way, Zen and Froot have been jumping in and out of the call and playing random soundboard sound effects to make Henya laugh so that fits the more traditional definition of unannounced

HoloEN is on life support even with a new generation. Too few girls, needed a gen 4 unironically by now, too much of myth just doesn't care. Bae used to stream forever, fauna too, now they don't take it seriously as much. In 2-3 months when Advent gets lazy the entire thing is just going to peter out.

Keep in mind, VShojo was much the same way earlier this year. Everyone sorta kept to themselves or had their own friend groups. It was only when Henya joined with her shy attitude that really spurred the others to make her feel welcome, and that lead to most of VShojo growing closer.

My point is these things are not set in stone, and HoloEN can grow closer too, given the right circumstances.

Lazulight's members always dropping into each other's streams unannounced was the best thing about Lazulight, in large part because it made them feel a bit more like a vtuber trio than just 3 members of the same wave.
With Obsydia it became less special, because there were more members, but it was still a fun thing.
After that, hardly anyone liked every member of NijiEN, and open vc started to be more of a nuisance.

I liked that it highlighted the differences in their personality very well.
