Honestly Gura isn't so fantastically rich that she can just retire early unless she sticks to a tight budget. She's made probably max ~$7-8 million net income on Hololive and you have to account for taxes being at least 37% since she's a single woman with no tax breaks and a high income
(federal tax only, don't want to doxxfag enough to try and figure out what state she lived in during different years). She also bought a house with part of that money. It all started duing the myth off collab. Last year some anon compiled a graph of all Gura's collab streams and they took a massive nose dive after myth had their off collab. Gura kept streaming afterwards for a while, but it started progressivly becoming more intermittent after this point.
Like the other anon here said, the real nail in the coffin was the rust arc. She was already one foot out the door at that point, but rust was the final straw really. Now she's essentially just tapped out entirely. Hololive still has vested interest in keeping her due to her being good for the brand, and she doesn't really have any reason to leave so long as cover doesn't pester her. So now we're just in this limbo state where gura is gone. Frankly, i don't see her ever returning to how things used to be.
