I guess after NijiEN took the “they’re just half-sisters, they have different dads” cope for Elira and Selen that eien decided “fuck it” and for the two girls drawn by the same artist to have the same last name.
It makes you wonder just why NijiEN was so opposed to giving Elira and Selen the same last name if they were still going to make them sisters in the lore. And if there’s a valid reason, why eien doesn’t care.
