Anon I don't think you get it. All the civs have a different focus tree, different unique units and more importantly, different bonuses for both the player and the team.
Do you think the Chinese who have more villagers at start but less wood and food in exchange play the same as Sicilians who have longer lasting farms and their land units (except siege) take -33% less bonus damage? Or the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas who don't have cavalry (unless you get a little to creative with monks...) and instead have Eagle Warriors who are a similar equivalent to the Light Cavalry and Hussars.

Well, without Kiara nothing would have ever happened. Kiara dealt devestating blows to Kronii, Moona, and made Anya pretty much useless for 15 minutes. Unfortunately Kiara's biggest downfall was not paying attention to chat that was spamming her to upgrade and build more pikemen which would have easily countered Fauna's mass elephant strategy.

There were some heavy camels mixed in there from time to time as well. Persian war elephants are the easiest units to counter in the whole game, but they are fully capable of stomping people who don't know the game. She recognized this and used it to win. Fauna's economy was also extremely good to support the whole strategy.

The elephants beat literally any unit 1v1. The counters are basically spamming halbs and monks, but if someone has pop capped on elephants and a handful of trebs/cbows the monks converting one or two elephants wont help much and you will lose 60 halbs to 60 elephants, and then 60 halbs to 50 elphants etc. and by the time you've built enough waves to actually defeat the elephants the trebs should have destroyed your town.

The reason you don't see elephants in 1v1 games is that the Persian player dies on the way to maxing out on fully upgraded elite war elephants but they're pretty meta on teams arena or blackforrest.

What actually happened is Kiara lost a cavalry heavy army to Fauna's war elephants in Anya's base where she had a longer reinforcing distance, and from that point onward Kiara was lagging behind in total army size because she had worse economy and unlike Fauna she had to remake her entire army from scratch. She could've held out much longer if she had econ'd up during the pause before Fauna attacked Reine.

That's how AoE2 works. The typical 'counter' units of skirmishers and spearmen are individually weaker than the unit they counter, but they only cost food and wood to produce which are effectively infinite in a typical match. The units they counter cost gold, a very limited resource, and are expensive on top of that. War Elephants are especially expensive costing 170 food and 85 gold, by comparison spearmen only cost 35 food and 25 wood. In fact, the persian war elephant is the single most expensive unique unit in the game. Counter units, being effectively infinite, naturally shouldn't be able to solo the resource limited unit they counter. To prove that, camels are a counter unit to knights, but they also cost gold. As such a camel can 1v1 a knight and win.

Technically speaking what Fauna and Kronii did was actual "macroing".
None of these girls know how to micro their armies, they are at the level where they don't even know what "A move" is.

And then there is the coach level that was what Anya was doing. Coaching Fauna, but Fauna ultimately make the decision to reveal her elephants prematurely.
If Anya coached for Kronii, their duo would have won.Fauna would become just as headless as Kiaya without Anya around.
