Easy.
>disable all extensions
>open uBlock dash
>remove everything in "my filters"
>go to filter lists, purge all caches, update now
That should do it.

You can slowly add things back to filters and re-enable other extensions after if you wish, although it will likely flag. I found sponsorblock seems to be setting it off for me, but youtube redux is fine. Your mileage may vary and there is a plebbit thread on the ublock subreddit for any troubleshooting. Good luck!

This. It appeared for me a few times but I just x'd it and that's that. I use Vivaldi and uBlock Origins. While I believe this is just a meaningless gesture and that one way or the other youtube will remain without ads, I'm perfectly willing to drop it if that becomes impossible. My refusal to watch ads or shit out money for youtube as such is non-negotiable.

Youtube, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and so on - all these big, bloated companies are either going to downsize massively or just become completely closed off and thus irrelevant. All of this may even bring about a return to a more decentralized kind of Internet, rather than some digital gulag these retards so desperately want to create. If it weren't for vtubers I'd never even use youtube for instance. Tech has platoed and so did the profits, and none of the mentioned or up and coming companies will be able to get record profits or grift money off of people as easily as they did until now. We're entering a much more peaceful time. Technological consumerism is essentially dead and that's why everything from Apple with its new pajeet phone to Musk's incomprehensible plans for twitter to Microsoft selling subscriptions for Windows is happening. "Techbros" are going to be made redundant in their untold thousands, not by AI but due to the fact tech peaked.

Don't get complacent anons. Clicking X works for a few days, then Youtube goes ham on your ass. Soon it'll say: You have used up one of three ablock strikes. Once all three are used, the youtube player will no longer function. I had that happen to me a couple days ago (US West Coast). Seems to be regional rollout, and this type of message is only the first step.

That said, renewing ublock origin (by purging caches and re-updating) has made it work again, but who knows for how much longer. Reddit thread from the devs (yes its sad, but we're stucking using reddit in this case) indicates they are updating ublock daily to keep it working, but Youtube is actively working to try to bypass it.

The video straight up won't open for you anymore and you get an empty/black box instead. So far it's still bypassable, and I'm sure there will be increasingly sophisticated bypasses, so if you're determined, you'll still be able to use it fine. Question is how far it needs to go so that most mainstream normies don't bother, at which point Youtube will call it a day.

This reminds me of Blue Protocol JP where mainstream VPNs were all banned, and you needed to set up a VPS using Amazon Lightsail. Took maybe 20-30 mins using a guide some anon was kind enough to lay out, but most normies freak out at the sight of a command prompt terminal. That was good enough for Bandai to stop further crackdowns on gaijin, and everyone moved on.

>Youtube is actively working to try to bypass it.
youtube, / google was actually going to be shutting down the ability to adblock anything with their new thing that was supposed to come out, which is still coming out but is delayed
eventually everyone will have to switch to firefox not because eventually chrome just wont enable adblockers, which why wouldnt firefox then do that also, but because youtube will be able to communicate with chrome directly to see if you're up to shit, so good luck stopping anything

twitch did the same shit and even if it took a while for my workarounds to stick I haven't run into any issues for months. tech companies either underestimate how much people don't want to fucking see ads, especially on videos, or they just figure if they can get enough normies to submit it doesn't matter that anybody with an IQ above room temperature can still bypass it.

guys just turn off the adblocker then reload the page and turn it on again, youtube only checks once per loading of a tab.
>>60378066
firefox could also but firefox would then losing out of the userbase that may move over just for the adblock and firefox doesnt have as big of stakes in unblocked ads as google does when one of googles main businesses is ads.
firefox is already basically the only alternative to chromium so they might as well continue to play into that alternative culture.

Or you can use a proxy to Russia because of the war and sanctions, youtbe cannot show ads in it.
It`s absurd, but international sanctions resulted in youtube without advertising for russians

for the last 4 or 5 months i've been watching youtube videos in incognito mode because i don't want my account getting recomended shit i don't like just because i watched a video lots of people watch.
I've also been adding channels to my "do not recommend" list, maybe 3 or 4 channels daily, usually everything new yt tries to recommend me.

Only someone destined for poverty/American wastes money like that. The hard bottom line is that youtube as a whole just isn't worth a single cent and doesn't deserve any form of support. The fact I watch vtubers on there doesn't outweigh my hatred of it, or my refusal to finance it. Actually hatred is too strong a word. I don't hate youtube, it's merely irrelevant except for this specific niche in my eyes. If all vtubers transferred to Twitch I'd just watch them there (I get no ads on Twitch). I don't have an iota of investment in youtube as such. Ads? Never. That's a hard line. I absolutely refuse to engage with ads in any capacity. It's just spam, and the actual solution is to ban advertising as a whole. That's the true end goal both on the Internet and IRL.

I've also never seen anyone as buckbroken and vapid as Americans. Apple shills utilize the same "poverty" shaming implication tactics to make their pajeet phone appear as a luxury product, and it seems youtube shills are now doing the same. The American IS the ad!

The shilling apple as some sort of luxury product and androids as the poor man's option is more of an Asian thing. Apple shills itself in America as being the progressive thing.

From my eurofag perspective I've only ever seen poor Americans latch onto Iphones as a status symbol in the same way poor blacks latched onto Nike shoes. Though it's absolutely true Asians are obsessed with status symbols and "luxury & premium" grifts.

But all of this indicates a deeper problem and trend - there is no more cheap money to keep all these bloated services and sites running. The US just doesn't have any more money to have a Netflix, Youtube etc. so all these companies are trying to pull an Apple. Apple's closed ecosystem of perpetual paying and subscriptions, just to stay afloat. My guess is this will gradually (maybe even quickly) kill a lot of huge expensive sites and that the future really could once more be a more decentralized hobbyist internet. This will also be the end of the American dominated internet if that can be said in those terms, and a further erosion of US influence. Oh, and just how Netflix perpetually raises its subscriptions so will youtube. The whole thing spells immediate doom. In the end it may become a purely American based and serviced portion of the internet, an actual and total normalfag containment zone. Even Musk has delusions about making twitter into a platform for everything. There's already way, way too many big (bloated) fish in a very small pond.

Anyway if you put a monetary gun to my head and make me choose between watching vtubers or paying for no ads I choose myself. It's basic monetary self-preservation, almost a natural law. I am membered to a few girls, but the mediator can go fuck itself. I just won't watch ads or pay youtube as such not to see ads. This whole "struggle" just isn't worth it because youtube overvalues itself.

Had it happen to me about a year and a half ago. Hit "Don't Recommend Channel" on all of them, and if the same channel shows up multiple times in the list, hit "Not Interested" and then "I don't like the video" for each one after the first. It took four months for it to start dwindling and then about two more for it to actually go away.
I think it has to do with searching something that YT associates with kids' content, which is a lot of things because channels named after kids can be named after basically anything. In my case I looked up "Trinity" to find a song and was inundated with three different kids' channels featuring girls named Trinity, followed by all other kinds of children's content.
